If what i heard about getting a second season pass of costumes happens , it's really not cool

pompombrum3200d ago

Their "I'm a fighter" attempt to legitimize DoA as a proper fighting game didn't last long.. it might as well be called waifu dress up fighter now.

Except it actually succeeded on that front . It has a solid community now compared to some of the old days that had only the die hard still playing . Since the original 5 , it attracted newcomers and people that used to think it was a mediocre casual fest with boobies

You just wont hear much about the game in the press , as it aint obviously at fancy events like EVO

Even though DoA is a really good fighter to start but people can't look past the cover. Meanwhile, Capcom announces that there will be plenty of costumes for purchase with Street Fighter 5 and it's perfectly okay.... oh the hypocrisy.

Funny thing about these skin packs.....THEY'RE OPTIONAL AND YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY THEM, shock I know but it's the truth.

Listen, I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but there is no reason anyone should be upset about the second costume pass. Just like DOTA and LOL, it does not affect the gameplay WHAT SO EVER. It is purely aesthetic for those of us who like to the variety in outfits for our favorite fighters.

Now, I will admit, It's an expensive upfront purchase. But, unless you're like me, you shouldn't buy it that way. Only buy what you like for the fighter you like. I simply do not understand why so many fans of the franchise feel wronged by Team Ninja making more outfits. You simply vote with your wallet if you don't want it. But, as for me, I am glad they are flourishing in a very crowded market particularly with such a niche title that is DOA.

So, don't be mad. Be glad that a series you love has found a way to make reliable revenue in order to create future iterations and keep it relevant. Because in all honesty..If you're the one who's not buying, you can thank me when DOX3 comes out. Because I'm the one shoveling money at them for these things :] DOA FTW

Oddly fitting the guy defending it uses the handle b00bies.

Of course it's just costumes , but it's out of hand here .

It's not about being mad at the existence of costumes , that ship has sailed .

But you'd think that the folks that actually bought the first pass , and already invested so much more money than usual into this , would be eligeible for the full access to future costumes .

DOA5 was a success , for a while selling better than tekken tag 2 which was totally unexpected , Ultimate made money , and Last Round at this point is lots of free extra cash ...
So no , i dont think "i'll thank you for this" , as if your money was needed at this juncture for them to decide to do a DOA6 . It's currently just pure greed based and has been for a while , not really about DOA surviving . Tecmo has done the same with game series that were never in danger like its Musou games

If anything accepting all of those decisions affect us in a negative way imo and set precedents over what it is ok to nickle and dime . It has ever since dlc appeared and very few rebelled , only to have eveyrone complains now . There should be a breaking and boiling point , and imo this here is one of those . Every other game that goes that road and wanna incite you to fork over 100 dollars into a single game , at least provide more arguably valuable content

The 10 Most Expensive Microtransactions And DLC In Games, Ever

From Xfire: "Remember when you'd buy a game and... that was it? You got the full experience by purchasing the full product one time. "

potedude1121d ago

Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.

Relientk771120d ago

I will never understand why people pay for this crap.

"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"

No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol

"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"

Ouch!

Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000

WTF...?!

Marie Rose: The making of Dead or Alive's doll-faced superstar

An in-depth interview feature with the developers at Koei Tecmo on the making of, and superstar rise of Marie Rose. From the feature: "For a series infamous for its big-breasted women and pin-up tone to then provide players with an option that so completely embraced cuteness was surely a creative risk. This is particularly true of markets outside of Japan, where people are as a rule far less comfortable with “cute” and “sexy” being in the same proverbial ballpark."
