I'd buy these if I didn't already have the PlayStation Gold ones. :/

My headset is about to snap so I'll have to buy a new pair soon. I'm thinking about those grey gold headsets.

Are they worth it?

Edit: This is coming for someone who uses a Tritton Pro +

Depends. I have the golds, and used them VERY heavily for about a year now, I think I bought them shortly after playing the Destiny Alpha, so it's been nearly a year of heavy use and they finally broke a month or two ago due to some plastic that keeps it hinged. Luckily I was still within warranty (1 year) and was able to get a free replacement from Sony (had to pay shipping though).

I had the turtle beach wired headset before and they broke, which led me to the golds. Ill never go back to a wired headset after using the golds, wireless is just so much more comfortable and useful, I dont have to take them off when going to get something to drink or to take a piss or something, they just remain on my head.

Downside though, the battery sucks and I have to charge it each night, they only get about 4 to 5 hours. Sound quality is good enough.

Mic quality is good enough as well, but I've been told I sound clearer with the mic that comes with the ps4. My psn friend recently got one and I heard him and he's perfectly understandable, but does sound better with a wired mic. If I had to compare sound quality in terms of game resolutions, I'd say the golds are 900p, while wired are 1080p. A slight difference, but nothing big or dealbreaking, just noticeable. Again, thats only mic quality I'm talking about.

If you're a sound whore, go with something else, but if you want an extremely comfortable headset, go for the gold. I got mine on sale for 54 bucks, which was rare, but they do hit 64, 70, and 80 dollar sales quite frequently.

@ vickers, Yeah I had same issue with my headset, but instead they returned mine and claimed it was abused/misued, pissed me off since it was under warranty. supervisor in support didnt wana help me out either, stingy call on their part. New pair I got was $30 from gamestop and so far, much better build quality.
