I think Mr. North was just joking or guessing. I personally don't want a Last of Us 2 unless it makes absolute sense and there is a clear story to tell.

Why would a sequel not make sense, or have a story any less clear than the first?

A sequel doesn't have to include Joel and Ellie. A whole new adventure would be just as awesome if not more so.

You get it. I don't want Joel and Ellie back personally. If they do choose a new story then do it anthology style with different characters. In a World War Z kind of style. Tell it from a whole nother part of the world or attempt something radically new

Yea, like I said in the article I loved the ending. It wasn't the typical "hero saves girl" trope, in fact it was quite the opposite. It was open-ended, but that doesn't mean they should add on to it.
