Originally for iOS and Android, Circle Entertainment has brought Samurai Defender to the 3DS. Will it be able to defend itself against some great games on the eShop, or will it fall among the ranks of eShop Hell?
If you like simple tower defense games Samurai Defender is worth checking out. If you have a mobile device you can grab it for free there or get it on Nintendo's eShop for $3.99.
Nintendo Life: CIRCLE Entertainment and the Nintendo 3DS eShop go hand in hand. Boasting nearly 50 titles with its name attached as either a publisher or developer, seeing a CIRCLE game pop up on the eShop update list has become the norm. With so many to its name, it's no surprise that CIRCLE's games run the gamut from top-notch to downright terrible. Its latest effort on Nintendo's portable powerhouse is Samurai Defender, a tower defense strategy game that sits squarely in the middle.
The games one finds through TapJoy are generally pretty terrible. Normally the games are on there for a reason, they haven’t been able to increase their audience through merit alone and therefore need other games to encourage their players to download and install them through the use of IAPs. Most of the games are heavy in IAPs themselves while lacking in gameplay, some of them lack any real “gameplay” at all. [...] Samurai Defender is proof, that not every game that is offered through TapJoy is garbage, some of them, for one reason or another, are simply having a hard time finding their deserving spot in the marketplace.
