It looks like we'll be getting another physical release for the PS Vita as well as the PS4 and PS3.

I bought this game and I'm still regretting it. I know it was well received and a lot of people liked it but IMO it was horrible and a waste of money.

chrish19903651d ago

Serious? First person I've heard not to like it. Each to their own I guess...

TomShoe3650d ago

I loved it. Cross-buy for PS3 & Vita is a serious bonus as well. It makes for a great pick up and play game for when I just want to shoot things.

Qrphe3650d ago

Is it Cross-Buy PS3/Vita only or PS3/PS4/Vita?

Exari3650d ago

@Qrphe crossbuy all 3

Hoffmann3650d ago

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The Dude in The Big Lebowski. (1998)

I like how you felt you had to put where the quote is from... as if we didn't know.

As to the topic at hand: not sure why they would do that for a $20 game. Seems like a waste since it's online only and people who play online only... have Internet connections.

morganfell3650d ago (Edited 3650d ago )

I agree with Christopher. The only way I could see this happening is if there was some major add-on in the works. An add-on mind you that frankly hasn't even been hinted at existing. It just doesn't make sense from a financial point of view. It isn't a masssive download, it's mainly seen as, and is a MP title, and no one has been clamoring for a physical release.

And to clarify, "no one" means enough combined voices to rise above a squeak on the odd forum.

@Morganfell

I think the costs of physical distribution are sometimes overstated. Retro city rampage's developer managed to release a physical copy of his game on bluray and PS Vita, and other titles like Awesomenaughts, Telsagrad and The Last Tinker have had successful physical releases.

SOEDESCO publish most of these games. So I think for some publishers its more convenient than others. I imagine they take a very large cut of the profit to cover the costs of producing the disc. That's mere speculation but obviously they have a business model that works as SOEDESCO have published quite a few indy titles as physical releases onto the PS4.

Personally I think Helldivers would be a good fit for a physical release. I think it's a very eye-catching game in its presentation, so it would stand out alongside other titles on store shelves.

Rimeskeem3650d ago

I respect your opinion even though it's wrong

callahan093650d ago

Perhaps you could try to explain what you didn't like about it? Just making a comment that you think it's horrible and a waste of money isn't exactly helpful to anyone.

InahimeHondaSengoku3650d ago

Exactly! People will never be satisfied and complain! :/

GuruStarr783650d ago

I agree.. I regret it too, it's slow and boring imho.

FrostedFire3650d ago (Edited 3650d ago )

Slow?Really?Have you played the higher levels? You don't get one second to rest you're always on your toes.

As for people that want a quick short review,

The game is a twin stick co-op top down shooter in which everything and everything will kill you.A lot of stuff in this game may seem unfair but its not unfair in the sense that would put you off from the game but rather it ups the challenge.Co-op is really good,as soon as you get in a game you can throw down an SOS beacon that puts you on the 'multiplayer'list which is unnecessary as you can just enable an option in the pause menus in other games to turn this option on but this just adds another layer to the game. The progression system is awesome in this game. You have stratagems in the game which you can call down at any time during the game(they offer a lot of things such as weapons ammo crates and a GOD DAMN MECH).The only thing I don't like about this game is the DLC and how they lock you out of so many guns

TheTwelve3650d ago

I'm sorry you feel this way --- this game is what gaming is all about to me!

ChronoJoe3650d ago

I get that YOU might not like it, but when you say it's horrible, what do you mean? Normally even games I do not lik myself, I can appreciate as being good games in their own right.

Helldivers is a great game, in my opinion.

I agree, I couldn't get into it. Alien Swarm is a lot better, should try that.

Spyroo3649d ago

LOL. No need to lie mate. I first played Alien Swarm before Helldivers came out and was a huge fan.
But no, after trying out Helldivers recently.. It is WAY better than Alien Swarm. Can't remember the last time I touched Alien Swarm again...

This game is really cool. I like to use the mech and blast away. Its simple, cheap and does have a nice co-op.

Would like to know more, lol.

WellyUK3650d ago

It's good but it's missing something that gives it any depth. Got bored within a week or so which is a shame as it is a good game.

Vita's 10 Best Online Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Competing with other players online is ingrained into the gaming ecosystem these days, with every hardware manufacturer (even the previously resistant Nintendo) offering ways to connect to others over the internet to engage in multiplayer. Ever since SEGA blazed a trail with their gone-too-soon Dreamcast and titles such as Chu Chu Rocket and Phantasy Star Online, the console landscape changed towards embracing the internet – solidified further by Microsoft’s Xbox initiative in 2001.

On handhelds, inroads into online gaming were slower, but with the advent of Sony’s PSP in 2005 that changed again and suddenly portable experiences were offered that could also connect with other players across the world. This was refined further with their next-generation handheld the PlayStation Vita, which offered improvements like easily accessible friends lists, system-based party chat, alongside some of the best portable online games that were available at the time of its release."

Killzone Mercenary has spectacular gameplay and great mp. Underrated game.

Helldivers was pretty awesome to have on Vita.

NFS MW worked well on Vita.

NecrumOddBoy2249d ago

Killzone Mercenary is not only a phenomenal KZ, it has the best integrated system shared between the campaign and the online community. I wish more shooters were this incredible.
