Love Inafune. Hasn't lost an ounce of talent over the years. If anything, he's getting better.

Super excited to see gameplay.

poppinslops3226d ago

Apparently it'll be shown at Gamescom... I can't say the trailer did much for me (CG trailers are a blight), but the list of devs, the game's website and this interview have all gotten my attention.

The 'last woman alive' concept is intriguing, especially in a world ruled by machines... Finding shelter in a sandstorm sounds like an intense experience, but waiting for it to pass could get boring, so I'm hoping her robotic death-squad will have some conversational qualities.

Inafune lists some of the game's inspirations, which are nothing if not encouraging... he's still being quite vague about the story, but it's due in 2016, so I'd expect to see plenty more at Gamescom and TGS.

donthate3226d ago

I thought Inafune is a one-hit type wonder kind of guy with Mega Man being it. Then I saw Mighty No 9 and the game play looks fun, very fun!

So I am very excited about this especially with Armature involved! :D

CYCLEGAMER3226d ago

I am interested in the game...i just hope it's not a side scroller or top down game. I want a full fledged AAA experience, with a deep story, and fun gameplay.

Golden_Mud3226d ago

This sounds interesting to me, but I would love to see how many bodies can the core be placed with in, that's what I got from the trailer.

Spid3r63226d ago

Yes cant wait to see Recon, Scalebound and Crackdown on stage at Gamescon it will be interesting to say the least. E3 still has me buzzed, I went to put money down on Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Rainbow 6 Siege that includes (Rainbow 6 Vegas, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2) which I am told that even the old games will have multiplayer support...Fallout 4 which include Fallout 3 which I never played before and the Elite Controller which by the way its $25.00 to hold, and the new Tom Raider. While I was in line to put the deposits down I saw three people buying the Xbox One.

christocolus3226d ago

Same here. cant wait to see Recore at Gamescom. In an interview with Gamespot Inafune revealed that Recore has been in development for more than 14 months. Hopefully we'll see gameplay very soon. stoked for Scalebound, Crackdown and Quantum Break too. Gamescom will obviously be huge this year.

HaydenJameSmith3226d ago (Edited 3226d ago )

Man I'm still coming down of the E3 hype, it was so good this year and to think only like six weeks until its starts all over again with Gamescom. Very excited to see Scalebound and Recore gameplay as well as see how Crackdown is gonna define the Cloud gaming landscape. Plus I'm sure Remedy got another amazing Quantum Break demo up their sleeve... plus Phil has said we've only seen a fraction of whats to come as well as just as many game announcements at Gamecom as there were at E3. Can't wait, MS are really bringing it this year...

Mikefizzled3226d ago

I know it's irrelevant but I'd love to know how this became and Xbox exclusive. Whether Xbox approached Inafune-san and asked for it or if he approached them.

Golden_Mud3226d ago

Inafune said that he and armature were trying to create a game in the past, and they tried to come to the concept in mind, at the time they came down to a concept, Armature was in works with Microsoft so they presented the concept to Microsoft and that's where the game came from.

Mikefizzled3226d ago

Thanks. One question remains of what were Armature and Microsoft doing together? Armature seem to only have publicly done ports.

Edi0073226d ago

this game look like will have the shadow of the beast 2.5D gameplay style

poppinslops3226d ago (Edited 3226d ago )

They list games like Zelda and Monster Hunter (and anime and Hollywood blockbusters) as sources of inspiration for ReCore, so I don't think it'll be anything like Shadow of the Beast... except for the desert, obviously.

It sounds more like an open-world game, where access to certain areas will be determined by your Robots' abilities... classic Metroid-style exploration.

I personally think there's better on gamepass then what was listed. State of decay imo is better then anything listed. Recore seemed alright for what I played on there also.

Is Recore any better to play now?

Concertoine468d ago

Yeah, especially on One X or Series X. It kinda feels like a PS2 platformer, but in a good way. I liked it.

KillBill468d ago

Odd that he specified 'Game Pass Ultimate' instead of just 'Game Pass' just so he could include a relatively weak choice comparably in 'Alice: Madness Returns' which is available with EA Play. SoD was a far better overlooked game to have listed.

Crows90468d ago (Edited 468d ago )

Dont know why they keep listing ultimate. Gamepass is the better value....but the reason I think is that ultimate includes online gwg.

MadLad468d ago

I mean, as someone who games both on PC and Xbox, Ultimate makes a whole lot of sense. There's console exclusives and PC exclusives. And, at the end of the day, EA Play is still a perk of having Ultimate. When I open Gamepass, the EA Play catalogue is sitting right there for me. It's as much part of Gamepass as any other title I'm looking at, right?

5 Games That Could Have Benefited From a Day One Game Pass Release

Omar Banat: Xbox Game Pass is one of the most ingenious services that Microsoft has come up with, but for these five games, it didn't come soon enough.

Game Pass certainly could have helped Sunset Overdrive which was underrated, imo.

"But the focus of the day is Remedy’s 2016 critically acclaimed Xbox exclusive, Quantum Break, and how Game Pass could have given it a much-needed bump."

Quantum Break received overall good reviews. Not great, but good. Critically acclaimed? Sorry, no. That's hyperbole.

"And fast-forwarding a few years, we saw what a boon Game Pass was for Gears 5. Not only did Game Pass help get the game into the hands of more Xbox and PC players, but it also helped it exceed Gears of War 4 in sales."

Gears 5 was launched on Steam day one. Gears of War 4 still isn't on Steam. I think that's important to point out if you are going to allude to reasons why one game outsold another.

darthv721128d ago

SSOD was free on GwG not too long after release. That is always fun for quick pickup and play. QB is one that I hope gets FPS boost support. It would just feel more natural being more fluid but it too is a good game. I assume it being on GP has somewhat helped it get some recognition.

CrimsonWing691128d ago

There’s no denying how good Gamepass is but I’m still foggy on how it benefits developers/publishers. Like, do they just get one lump sum of cash to put the title on Gamepass? I mean, I personally canceled my pre-order for Outriders when I saw it’s going to be on Gamepass day 1. Judging by that I’m not sure Gamepass helps with the sales of games, rather it does expose games to more players, but how much of that equates to sales down-the-road?

RavenWolfx1128d ago

I heard payment was based on number of downloads and time played in addition to a lump sum, but I am not sure on the accuracy.

demonseye1128d ago

I actually agree on this. because a lot of games will get played that people they normally wouldn't pay for. and its 10 dollars per month which is 120 dollars per year. The average game cost day one is around 70 dollars. i buy a lot more games than 2 on a yearly basis.
and well the gamepass for me just made my option ps5 pc combo. as long as they release every game on pc I don't even have a reason to buy an Xbox. so i wonder if this plan is financially smart in the long term. mind you Xbox already received money for every Xbox game sold regardless if it's Microsoft owned or not.

Keiji Inafune's Latest Mobile Game Will Shut Down After Less than a Year of Life

The former Mega Man producer's latest game, Dragon & Colonies, is going to dragon heaven.

mrmikew20181582d ago

Another failure from this whiny clown, I wonder what his excuse will be now?

Chaos_Order1580d ago

Probably that "The mobile gaming landscape is cruel and ruthless and something needs to be done!" when not long ago he would've been thinking "the mobile game market is so massive, we'll make Megabucks!"

xX1NORM1Xx1580d ago

I kinda feel bad for him at this point but he did bring it on himself with mighty number 9.

PhoenixUp1580d ago

Seems everything he touches since he left Capcom becomes filled with misfortune.

- Started work on a 3DS game called Kaio: King of Pirates that later got canceled
- Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was a disappointing game that all but killed the Ninja Gaiden franchise
- Mighty No.9 failed to live up to the grand expectations set for it
- ReCore was very below average title that didn’t leave much of an impression
- Red Ash has fallen off the radar and the public hasn’t heard anything about its progression

All these flops from the same man who dissed Japanese developers a decade ago. He even defended Phil Fish’s harsh criticism of Japanese devs yet Inafune himself has hasn’t had any critical hits of his own since leaving Capcom.

Chaos_Order1580d ago

The "creator" *coughs violently* of Mega Man sure can't catch a break, can he?

Chaos_Order1580d ago

Which is exactly why I put the word "creator" in quotes and added *coughs violently* after it, because he has been called the creator of Mega Man many times in the past despite it not being accurate. -_- Pardon my immense subtlety.

Wasabi1579d ago

@MrSwank

**"he didnt create mega man"***

I think that was his point.

Hint: "coughs violently"
