Keiji Inafune is best known as a game designer who created hit Japanese games such as Mega Man, Onimusha, and Dead Rising. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo this week, he showed off his newest title during the Microsoft press briefing called ReCore, A new exclusive IP coming next year to Microsoft’s Xbox One.
Of course Sunset Overdrive gets a nod. It's Insomniac!
I personally think there's better on gamepass then what was listed. State of decay imo is better then anything listed. Recore seemed alright for what I played on there also.
Odd that he specified 'Game Pass Ultimate' instead of just 'Game Pass' just so he could include a relatively weak choice comparably in 'Alice: Madness Returns' which is available with EA Play. SoD was a far better overlooked game to have listed.
Omar Banat: Xbox Game Pass is one of the most ingenious services that Microsoft has come up with, but for these five games, it didn't come soon enough.
Game Pass certainly could have helped Sunset Overdrive which was underrated, imo.
"But the focus of the day is Remedy’s 2016 critically acclaimed Xbox exclusive, Quantum Break, and how Game Pass could have given it a much-needed bump."
Quantum Break received overall good reviews. Not great, but good. Critically acclaimed? Sorry, no. That's hyperbole.
"And fast-forwarding a few years, we saw what a boon Game Pass was for Gears 5. Not only did Game Pass help get the game into the hands of more Xbox and PC players, but it also helped it exceed Gears of War 4 in sales."
Gears 5 was launched on Steam day one. Gears of War 4 still isn't on Steam. I think that's important to point out if you are going to allude to reasons why one game outsold another.
There’s no denying how good Gamepass is but I’m still foggy on how it benefits developers/publishers. Like, do they just get one lump sum of cash to put the title on Gamepass? I mean, I personally canceled my pre-order for Outriders when I saw it’s going to be on Gamepass day 1. Judging by that I’m not sure Gamepass helps with the sales of games, rather it does expose games to more players, but how much of that equates to sales down-the-road?
The former Mega Man producer's latest game, Dragon & Colonies, is going to dragon heaven.
I kinda feel bad for him at this point but he did bring it on himself with mighty number 9.
Seems everything he touches since he left Capcom becomes filled with misfortune.
- Started work on a 3DS game called Kaio: King of Pirates that later got canceled
- Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was a disappointing game that all but killed the Ninja Gaiden franchise
- Mighty No.9 failed to live up to the grand expectations set for it
- ReCore was very below average title that didn’t leave much of an impression
- Red Ash has fallen off the radar and the public hasn’t heard anything about its progression
All these flops from the same man who dissed Japanese developers a decade ago. He even defended Phil Fish’s harsh criticism of Japanese devs yet Inafune himself has hasn’t had any critical hits of his own since leaving Capcom.
Love Inafune. Hasn't lost an ounce of talent over the years. If anything, he's getting better.
Super excited to see gameplay.
This sounds interesting to me, but I would love to see how many bodies can the core be placed with in, that's what I got from the trailer.
Yes cant wait to see Recon, Scalebound and Crackdown on stage at Gamescon it will be interesting to say the least. E3 still has me buzzed, I went to put money down on Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Rainbow 6 Siege that includes (Rainbow 6 Vegas, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2) which I am told that even the old games will have multiplayer support...Fallout 4 which include Fallout 3 which I never played before and the Elite Controller which by the way its $25.00 to hold, and the new Tom Raider. While I was in line to put the deposits down I saw three people buying the Xbox One.
I know it's irrelevant but I'd love to know how this became and Xbox exclusive. Whether Xbox approached Inafune-san and asked for it or if he approached them.
this game look like will have the shadow of the beast 2.5D gameplay style
