(Xbox One) What about the resolution / fps for MGS V and PES 2016

Gamekyo writes: As you know, CN Play is still at E3, yes I know "how lucky band!" and after the rush of the early days with the conferences comes time testing the games available on showfloors. Today they could test Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain and PES 2016 on Xbox One, the surprising information is that both titles on Xbox One will be in 1080p / 60fps, all this was obtained from Julien Merceron who handles technology Fox Engine at Konami. With the new SDK, they could notably increase the low def textures in high def, information that can therefore take seriously. Far 720p MGS Ground Zero and PES 2015. Konami was also quite proud of this fact and proposed as terminal xbox one that PS4 terminal. MGS V will be available on 1 September 2015 and PES 2016 on 17 of the same month, they will both be available on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

That's good news for X1 gamers.

Maybe gamers can now discuss the actual game instead of resolution/FPS.

You must be crazy

Ppl will find things...

Frame drops

It never ends

RocketScienceLvlStuf3323d ago

I'll believe this when I see it from a more reputable source.

Kingdomcome2473323d ago

Sure you would... even then you'd find something to feign disdain over. OT: I'm glad to hear this. PES being 720p while many other more graphically demanding games were able to achieve at least 900p made no sense to me. I always considered it to be an issue with the Fox engine and the Xbox One not playing nicely with each other.

Palitera3323d ago

The discussion about res and FPS should be about how incredibly awesome their engine is.

Great news for xb1 owners!

Now all they need is the dynamic skyboxes the ps4 version of Phantom Pain has.

Does anyone know if this feature has been put into the xb1 version yet?

I'd hate for people playing Phantom Pain to miss out on all the bells and whistles.

I already kind of feel bad for people only getting to experience Kojimas finest hour on last gen consoles.

My friend only has a 360 and an SDTV and he's been my MGS discussion buddy for 18 years now, I'll have to loan him my console just so he can experience it at its best. I did the same when mgs4 came out, I gave him my ps3 for a month :)

I'll never forget the day we hunted down one of those elusive ps2 ethernet adaptors (they were very rare in europe, VERY rare) just to play MGSOnline for mgs3. Finally found it second hand in a bargain bin in a retro gaming and record store emporium in a back street near the docks :D

From the Previews I've read, it seems as though PES 2016 is a noticeable step up in the graphics department from PES 2015.

I was fine with PES 2015's graphics as they were, so this is just a nice bonus.

* Still wondering why only PS4 is getting the file transfer option though.

truely shocked if this is factually correct... the fox engine hasn't exactly had the greatest run out on the xbox one

dcbronco3323d ago

It shouldn't come as a shock. If nothing else the number of OS updates having nothing to do with the look of the dashboard makes it clear the OS wasn't ready and was intended for DX12. Despite the parts involved being different the overall performance of the two consoles is similar because of design and OS. Maybe in the future the PS4 will move ahead again but they are closer than most thought. Like many things there is more to it than numbers.

TheGreatGamer3323d ago

Think before was due to fox engine not being optimized, well done to konami on fixing this

meche3343323d ago

The SDK was also not good for the fox engine. You gotta give it to MS for keeping the console updated.

Stringerbell3323d ago

Yep. I remember last years PES on the PS3- the input was incredibly laggy, the PES clearly wasn't used to the engine yet. One year later it was a world of difference.

Why are people shocked?
SDK updates and dx12 was known for over a year now to improve games.

It is n4g doe

Metal Gear Solid 5, Nearly After A Decade, Is Still A Timeless Classic

The Metal Gear series, led by Kojima, pioneered the stealth genre, creating a masterclass in storytelling and gameplay.

SimpleSlave49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

No. But MGS5: Ground Zeroes might actually be one of the greatest Game Demo ever, if not the best.

xHeavYx49d ago

I know a lot of people didn't, but I actually liked that story twist at the end. The game was fun and all, but I wouldn't call it a timeless classic.
