GT: Invest your hype where you want, but bet that for the everyman and late adopter, Xbox One bundles will be the far more enticing and numerous option this holiday season.

Id love lottery numbers from the writer.

AngelicIceDiamond3291d ago

When both perform really well your bound to have different opinions.

miyamoto3291d ago (Edited 3291d ago )

Again another ignore-rant, article from an Xbox reputation Manager.

Do all games really need to have a grand E3 announcement?

Come on, really now.

Clearly he has no understanding of how the PlayStation Nation do biznez.
LoL!

MS should hire smarter managers not narrow minded one track mind ones.

Sony and its partners announced its games on a regular basis every month the whole year round and the PlayStation Nation know these games whether AAA, Midsize, or Indie; Western or Japanese; 1st Party, 2nd Party or 3rd Party..... all by heart.

E3 is just for formality and celebration.

Until Dawn
The Talos Principle
Planetside 2
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Tearaway Unfolded
GOW3 Remaster
Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection

Astebreed
Godzilla
JStars Victory
Dragon Quest Heroes
FFXIV Heavensward
Onechanbara Z2
Persona 5
Disgaea 5
Sword Art Online Lost Song
Re: Hollow Fragment
Dragon's Dogma Online

and the great list of 3rd Party games with exclusive to PlayStation content.

And xboxers downplay Japanese pS4 exclusive games not knowing the fact that they wont be localized if there is no demand for these games.

Tomb Raider vs Nathan Drake Collection? Good Luck SE and MS. You picked the wrong timing.

SpaceRanger3291d ago

Everyone is so closed minded to the point that just because it wasn't announced at E3 means it's not coming this fall lol

There's plenty of games that are coming out year round for only the PS4. And that's the way I prefer them myself, ALL YEAR. Just because it doesn't let you play with a gun in your hand or it's not a yearly racing game doesn't mean that Playstation doesn't have anything in store this "Holiday" or should I say "the last 3 months of the year".

And in regards to BC with Xbox 360. I think it was a perfect hit and MS has it so that people can play old stuff until the Holiday. It really makes good sense and is an awesome feature on their part.

S2Killinit3291d ago

yup. If you actually look at the list of games coming out for PS4, there is way more than the competition. But I think when they say "holiday line up" they mean big sequels.

Ron_Danger3291d ago (Edited 3291d ago )

Plus people tend to forget that all the PS4 games that have come out the first half of this year will get nice discounts around the holidays so if you get a PS4 around then, you'll also be able to stock up on awesome games (Drive Club and Bloodborne!!)

iamnsuperman3291d ago (Edited 3291d ago )

I don't think Microsoft have won the holiday at all. Out of all the games coming in the fall Halo will be the only one to make an huge impact for the Xbox One. There are far to many huge third party games coming at the end of this year which, like the ones before them, helped Microsoft's competitior far more than Microsoft. Microsoft are overloading the wrong part of the year.

They should move Tomb Raider and Fable legends to the early part of next year. They are not going to get the coverage with Fallout, Battlefront, COD, Just Cause being released

MysticStrummer3291d ago (Edited 3291d ago )

MS wins the holiday but Sony wins the year.

As a PS4 owner I'll won't be able to play everything coming out later this year on day one, so I really don't see the problem. Plenty of games to choose from.

Delivorance3291d ago (Edited 3291d ago )

I think a lot of people are missing the point. I will be getting a PS4 and I will eventually play Bloodborne, but I am not buying another console until there is an undeniable reason to and that reason is Uncharted 4. It's not that there aren't great games coming to both consoles this year and that everyone won't have great games to play, but you and I and many others have all ready chosen our consoles of choice as early adopters. We all know that when you walk into your local video game store or Best Buy all the hype and the advertising is for the big AAA titles (third and first party alike). Those who have waited until now to make a choice and those who are just getting into video games are going to see all the third party marketing, but also all the "only on Xbox One" from all the first party exclusives. This plus true backwards compatibility and it's going to be harder at least this year for Sony to win that fight. There are GREAT games coming to the PS4 this year no doubt but only the informed will know about them.

Donjune3291d ago

Halo 5
Forza 6
Tomb Raider
Fable Legends....

Looks like a good holiday for Microsofts console.

Microsoft's Xbox gaming handheld will fail unless someone else makes it

Despite Microsoft's experience in hardware manufacturing, I don't trust it not to fumble its first gaming handheld device which may eventually lead to a successor not getting released.

Unless it has some fature that really makes it standout I don't think someone who wants a handheld will pick it when the Switch 2 is just around the corner and the Steam Deck offers a huge library with much better prices worldwide

OtterX15h ago(Edited 15h ago)

Especially since the existing PC handhelds (Steam Deck, ROG Ally, etc) can already run Gamepass. I don't have a Steam Deck yet, but I did see Forza Horizon 5 already running pretty well on it natively, so I'd imagine most XBox exclusives on Steam would run pretty well too. The most Microsoft could do is try to brute force a more expensive, higher power handheld. I doubt it would do well if that were the case.

ABizzel111h ago

This has been my point. It’s too little too late, and there are too many options out now that can already do the same thing with similar or better tech, in a similar price-range. A best case scenario for them is slightly above Steam-Deck performance at $100 less, but that’s not a huge selling point for anyone who has already jumped into the handheld PC market, and people still on the fence. Or go the other route of as cheap as possible but making it a streaming only device around $199.

It would do well and reach over 1m sold just because of the Xbox branding, but their consoles are already selling less and less (by the looks of it), so I don’t see a handheld being this great savior for them.

They simply need to rebrand one of the Surface tablets into the device with dedicated controls and more gaming focused, and call it a day instead of heavily investing in a handheld

VariantAEC7h ago

I'm guessing Xbox Wireless will be a streaming system like PS Portal. And yes I fully expect their portable Xbox to be given a really stupid name like "Wireless." Maybe even a dumber name like the Xbox Series W.

Jingsing17h ago

Doesn't make much sense to have a handheld that is locked down to the Xbox ecosystem when the PC handheld can run everything. I'm sure the same people that bought the Xbox fridge will give Microsoft their free money though.

XBManiac14h ago

Microsoft handheld Qualcomm based... you will see it next year... and you will see it sink.

Sony Rewards Program Is Coming To An End on Dec. 31, 2024

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it is ending the Sony Rewards program on December 31, 2024, and as a result that date will be the last time possible to redeem points and access your account.

helicoptergirl1d 13h ago

This is a shame. I've been using it since the start. It had a few problems and issues but overall I did end up saving a little bit over 60 dollars using this program. There was probably not enough people using it.

Cacabunga1d 10h ago

Is it playstation stars?? I really never understood it. I am still level 1

PS_HCT1d 9h ago

This is not playstation stars. Sony Rewards is a US rewards program linked to a visa credit card.

darthv721d 9h ago

I just checked... I have 144 points at the moment. Not even enough to get a $5 PS card. I can get a $1 digital gift card to Target or home Depot though.

blackblades1d 6h ago (Edited 1d 6h ago )

I thought they were been done with this, I redeem some good stuff with this in the past. Wonder how much i got its been awhile

OtterX1d 13h ago

I've gotten so many free games throughout the years w this program, this sucks. I've been with it since the beginning.

I just run a majority of my needed purchases through it and pay it off immediately instead of using cash or debit. The most recent was on Tuesday I got a $10 dlc free. It was great as long you're not borrowing out large amounts of money that you don't have.

ChasterMies1d 11h ago

Realistically, those weren’t free games. You could have used another cards rewards points or bought Sony products on sale and then used the savings to buy PlayStation games.

OtterX1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Well there was a large boost on any purchase made on PSN, so there was an incentive to use over other cards' rewards. It used to be better, then they lowered it. I forget the exact multiplier though.

I pretty much got this $10 DLC free this week just by resubbing my PS+ Premium. (On sale during Days of Play) Not a lot of other cards would give that much back

dumahim1d 9h ago

Right. I can do the same thing with my credit card rewards, but I have much more flexibility in what I can redeem those points for, including buying PS games.

shadowT1d 12h ago

I never owned the credit card. Was this program available in Europe and Asia?

Profchaos1d 11h ago

Seriously it was awesome Ive gotten a few free psn vouchers out of it.

FPSRUSSIA1d 11h ago

i remember getting Assassin creed black flag for free with Redeeming my Points for 10 dollars when it was on sale this is very sad news.

OtterX1d 11h ago

I actually believe that was one of my first cashouts on the program! haha

I remember I had just gotten the PS4 and I used it on Black Flag or Battlefield 4 to go with it.
I'm pretty sure I remember it being Black Flag though! (Great choice, as it became my favorite AC of all time)

Yep Xbox absolutely knocked it out of the park with that stunning show, it was everything a gaming showcase should be, games games and games, well done team Xbox.

CrimsonWing6910d ago

It really did. Like I came out of that with the hype for new games I haven’t felt since… well the better years of E3.

monkey60210d ago

It was without a doubt one of the better showcases in years. There was plenty there that excited me. Something has been lacking in years on all platforms

EasilyTheBest10d ago

It was an amazing showcase I loved everything about it. Can't wait to play some of those games.
What's going on. 4 comments & no negatives yet. Wow, what's going on with N4G.

ThinkThink10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Show was so good, it made me forget about that blue dragon rumor until the next day. Too many games to process.
