PlatinumGames Teases Bayonetta 3 on Twitter

PlatinumGames director Hideki Kamiya teased Bayonetta 3 on Twitter when someone asked for his opinion about the hairstyle for one of the game series' characters.

JuleyJules3384d ago

I'd love it if we heard that the Bayonetta IP is now part of Nintendo with Platinum developing AND that she's coming to SSB too. I'm dreaming but it'd be sweet!! Loved Bayonetta 2 and I actually finished it - first game I've ever finished!!!

Mikefizzled3384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

Probably trolled, Its Kamiya who has nothing to do with Bayo 3 unless it's in a few years time.

MWH3384d ago

if there ever was a Bayonetta 3, I should be multiplatform. every fan of the genre should experience this beauty.

Mikefizzled3384d ago

Good to hear that you should be multiplatform. :)

MWH3384d ago

lol, what to do when there's people like you around the corners. i'm saying this in a friendly manner by the way :)

Mikefizzled3384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

N4G can be a little to serious sometimes. I like too keep the mood light.

ChickeyCantor3384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

" FF7 should be on every platform, every fan of the genre should experience this beauty."

inb4 it was on PSX. The franchise was long running on Nintendo.

MWH3384d ago

too much sake, ChickenCantor?

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3384d ago

it was on Nintendo 64 first to begin with.

Khajiit863384d ago

I LOVED the first one, was really upset and confused on why 2 was a WiiU exclusive. I refuse to buy a WiiU for only that one game. I am not saying WiiU has no games because it def. does, just that none besides Bayonetta 2 and the new Zelda game (that hasnt came out yet) are the only 2 that interest me

Neonridr3384d ago

confused as to why Bayonetta 2, which Nintendo helped fund since no other studio wanted to step in, was a Wii U exclusive..

I'll give you a moment to ponder that statement. If you are still unsure as to why Bayonetta 2 was a Wii U exclusive, then I have no hope for you.. ;)

Khajiit863384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

@Neon

I get that but I never played the first one on a Nintendo console so I figured with the success it had it would have been multiplat. Never seen it as a Nintendo "exclusive" type.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3384d ago

right a every fan should had bought Bayonetta 2 then.

Oh wait. Yall didn't.

GordonKnight3384d ago

Exclusive games is what gives video game consoles their identity. The Wii U may not have destiny may not have grand theft auto V, but it does have bayonetta 2 to and Devils third. IMO those are more hard-core. The truth be told though it really doesn't matter. At this point everyone should have all three consults. Specially when the Wii U can be purchased for $200 refurbished with the game from Nintendo.

Something about all this just made me decide to buy a Wii-U. Was thinking about Bayonetta, how I bought it twice on 360 and Ps3 just because I liked it so much. Probably be a huge price cut about a month after a buy one, so look for that.

Hideki Kamiya On Why He Left PlatinumGames, His YouTube Channel, and His Next Game

In a wide-ranging interview with IGN, game developer legend Hideki Kamiya reveals why he left Bayonetta maker PlatinumGames and what's next.

darthv72280d ago

Long shot here but with him out of the picture... MS could get PG to finish Scalebound. As it is, the project was shelved and Ms still had all the work they had done up to that point. HK's mismanagement of multiple projects is what caused MS to pull the plug, but I feel they still wanted to get it done at some point.

gold_drake278d ago

if MS hasnt picked it up yet,it will never return. it was cancelled in 2017. 6 years ago.

MS owns the IP, not PlatinumGames.

Cacabunga278d ago

I have been waiting for a new Vanquish for a long time!! I barely imagine how the result could be on PS5

isarai280d ago

Sounds like Tencent influence was something he wasn't down with.

Levii_92279d ago

Sorry, you have been blocked by Hideki Kamiya. ❌

“My work with Platinum Games was based on a relationship of trust with the company. I decided to leave because I felt that the direction the company was heading in was different from my beliefs as a developer. Without that element of trust, I couldn’t continue working there, and so I left, so that I could continue working in what I consider to be the right way.

“I don't think of games as products, but rather as works of art. I want to put my artistry into games and deliver games that could only be made by Hideki Kamiya, so that players can enjoy Hideki Kamiya games exactly as they are. I decided to leave the company and forge my own path, to continue making games that reflect the developers who made them.”

Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023

Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023.

-Mika-361d ago

Phil better have that check ready. Hideki expertise and knowledge would be a great asset to the Xbox team and can possibly bring growth in the Asia region.

VersusDMC361d ago

Phil already canceled a Kamiya game(Scalebound) so we know he doesn't have the check ready. And that check couldn't keep Shinji Mikami there either...but maybe?

CrimsonWing69361d ago

I’m still bitter about that cancellation. Even if it was in dev hell he could’ve given it to an internal studio.

Obscure_Observer360d ago

@CrimsonWing69

"I’m still bitter about that cancellation. Even if it was in dev hell he could’ve given it to an internal studio."

Are you crazy???

That would be extremely disrespectful!

Michiel1989360d ago

@obscure as if one of ms's own studios would know how to get the game out the door in a great way. Remember what happened when they did that with Duke Nukem Forever?

20nmrtnz361d ago

Tencent and Netease around the corner: Bonjour!

AdonisIsBeast360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Was the 69 billion dollar acquisition plus 8 billion for Zenimax not enough lol?

-Foxtrot361d ago

How sudden, I wonder what changed.

Maybe after the certain story choices and direction for Bayonetta 3 they can hopefully make it more like the first two games.

justsomeoffdude361d ago

i've always felt platinum games lack of growth/failures can be traced back to kamiya. He seems like a very troublesome person to work with
