Nintendo Will Announce “Big Third-Party Partnerships” at E3

Gamnesia: ''Nintendo has an immense library of popular and memorable first-party characters and franchises, such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid, but one area where they have greatly lacked in recent years is third-party support.''

Hmmm. Good news. Hopefully we get better quality games than we did with Segas partnership with Nintendo. That last Sonic was awful, and that was just the demo I played.

How quickly people forget. Im not trying to rain on anyones picnic or anything but theyve done this so many times. Announce third party companies and talk about bringing more core games out and such. I see this as the same dance and chant. Let them prove it is what i say.

I agree and feel the same- I bought a Wii U at launch (1st and last launch console purchase) based partly on their promise of more 3rd party games, better relationships etc- But when it was time for Nintendo to "put its money were its mouth was" they walked away for the Wii U, 3rd parties and its early purchasers-

They will have to prove themselves 1st next time as it seems (per Wii U sales) that the buying pubic has learned

Why do I want to watch the predator all of a sudden???

Anyway.....I wait and see. It would be great news but I've heard this before.

Dat Arnie bro shake...

On Topic: Maybe they will give Capcom a hand.

Hi, you know I thought the same thing, like with GameCube, we had the RE remake, Zero, and my favorite RE4 as well as RE3 port. GameCube was RE Paradise for a couple of years. Plus Viewtiful Joe.

I just don't think that would be in the cards(I hope I am wrong cause I love RE.

Capcom didn't release Revelations 2 on Wii U. Also the install base after 2 1/2 may be too much of a gamble.

Oh well, we will know in a couple of days at E3.

But my money is on either Capcom or Platinum games.

Capcom VS Nintendo? I hope so!

They've been talking about and working on increasing and diversifying their lineup through third party partnerships for a little while now. Lego City: Undercover, The Wonderful 101, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Boom (even though it was absolutely awful) and Sonic Lost World all came about through partnering with third parties. We still have Devil's Third and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem coming, too. I'd expect at least one announcement of a similar partnership for another third party game at E3.

The one thing I'd really like to see them attempt to step up is partnering with a few more Western studios.

Dunban671277d ago

but most or all the games you mentioned for the Wii U were funded all or in part by Nintendo- so they were ore 2nd party- look at Nintendo s most recent annual report were they list 3rd party partnerships and nearly all of them are Indy dev s

That pic is hilarious and fitting.

I'm guessing Capcom and definitely Namco have something for the Wii U system. I wouldn't be surprised if a more Japanese eccentric company like Atlus would have an exclusive for the Wii U.

The 10th Rider1277d ago

They're already working with Altus on Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. Maybe we'll see another, though

gangsta_red1277d ago

Yea, i'm guessing Atlus will have even more for the Wii U.

uth111277d ago

Now THAT will be the biggest surprise at E3!

I heard a dumb rumor that Team Ninja is working with Nintendo on Metroid Prime 4.
