ODST's greatest defender Marb, examines why ODST remastered is worth your time and why it's exactly the sort of apology required for the Master Chief Collection problems.

I've got Halo 1 out the way, but 2,3,4 and now ODST seem to have got stuck somewhere in the backlog.

Any sign of Reach? Can never have too many games in the backlog. Not once you've broken through the initial pain barrier.

Reach was amazing, Bungie's finest work. Also 343 added Halo 4 to the Halo collection (that had a COD multiplayer) , why not Reach. Great story, innovative multiplayer & massively improved firefight & Forge.

Gazondaily3239d ago

I didn't think much of Reach, although The Marb, the chap who wrote this thinks Reach is the best in the series:

Firefight and Forge were decent in it. But the story didn't really grip me and the MP got stale because of the maps that were recycled from the Campaign. Decent effort but I don't think its the best.

I really need to complete Reach.

spicelicka3239d ago

Halo 4 does not have Cod multiplayer lol. And they've pretty much removed loadouts and perks for most halo 4 game modes. I don't even see ordinance drops anymore. It plays like any other halo.

Trekster_Gamer3239d ago

Reach was almost as awesome as Halo 4, but without the Masterchief it was not the same.

I would love to see reach added but I am sure it is all about Halo 5 at the moment as it should be. Maybe down the road we could see Reach remastered using the Halo 5 engine, wouldn't that be a sight to behold!

Reach would have to be re-released as a standalone, maybe with Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike included. Reach's forge is too good to discontinue.

The-Marb3239d ago

I reckon Reach will drop on remaster just prior to Halo 5.

Well written piece! ODST is no doubt the red headed step child of the bunch, but whether you get this for free or have to pay the small entry fee, it’s well worth it for fans of the franchise. This is especially true for those that missed this one or passed on it at the time of release. It’s something to keep us Halo nuts from going stir crazy till the fifth entry hits stores =)

There was no firefight in this ODST re-release, which baffles me.

Anybody that played ODST's Firefight knows how special of an experience it was. Can't for the life of me understand how 343 could miss this. ODST's firefight was among my absolute favorite things in the Halo series.

It definitely seems like a weird decision to cut out Firefight, because i believe it was the first Halo to introduce it as well. It was probably to cut down development time and avoid testing the mode.
