NL:
For the past few months, multiple developers have been releasing their own clones of Minecraft in an effort to provide Nintendo gamers with the closest approximation to that source material as possible. Though the concept may seem simple initially, most developers have failed to recreate it in any meaningful way, with performance issues and stripped-back features usually marring what would otherwise be a good start. Cube Life: Island Survival is not without some of these flaws, but it is certainly the best effort made so far, successfully managing to include most of the features of its inspiration while adding in a few new ones of its own, to varying degrees of success.
In Survival Mode, the player must maintain health, explore caves, gather resources, and craft tools on an unknown island.
Looks kind of familiar...can't quite put my finger on where I've seen it...ARGH! This is going to bother me..
The Wii U's first Minecraft clone, Cube Life: Island Survival, is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4, developer Cypronia has today announced.
It is as much of a Mineceaft clone as Minecraft is a clone of Infiniminer... it's annoying how people can't accept that Minevraft's popularity has opened the way to a bunch of games in the same style and genre. Similar to how everyone used to call any sandbox game that wasn't GTA a "GTA clone" back in the day.
Deal with it.
I have had Cube Life since its release last year, never played it. The reason I bought it was, the video preview said "this is for you Nintendo fans!"So I bought it just to support them!
Indie game developers, Cypronia have announced that the first update to their hit Wii U Nintendo eShop game, Cube Life: Island Survival, is going to be released today. To celebrate the Update v1.1, Cypronia are also giving away 100 Cube Life download codes for Europe.
I'm getting a good impression from this game judging mostly by Miiverse users who actually own the game. I'll buy it to see how it holds up compared to Minecraft.
