It is kinda funny official options haven't existed til now for PC, but BlueStacks was in alpha in 2011 and exited beta in 2014. Hopefully all Google's Chromebook experience means their PC solution for Google Play will be in good shape out the gate. I can't see myself using it a ton, but I'd far prefer a simpler option from Google than the current iteration of BlueStacks.

Given who is most likely to download a PC BETA FOR MOBILE, there's effectively no good games available. Nigh on everything is the most insipid, MTX laden trash available on the store. Not only can you not just go to your library of owned games & download from there, you can't even SEARCH for games; just look through a meager list of currently supported games. And Yikes.
Hope this thing expands selection and improves functionality at breakneck speed, because this is kind of tragic as it stands.

I remember when he complained that Microsoft would basically update and firmware steam out of existence in favor of the Windows store. Yet now he's works for a company that is literally trying to buy content away from steam.
If Epic suddenly came out with a phone or tablet that took majority share of the market, he wouldn't be complaining about his company, Epic having a monopoly with the Epic store on their own hardware would he?
Yea but his platform he launched is attempting to put a monopoly in check. Which is what Steam was guilty of. He is reiterating the same logic with Apple & Google Play store.
Steam being guilty of being a monopoly isn't their fault. Everyone was giving up on PC gaming at the time and Steam single handed kept it from dieing. When everyone said "our cd keys" can't stop piracy they just gave up and steam saved the day basically.
And the logic he speaks of in regard to Apple and Google are a moot point. You can't be mad at someone for giving THEIR OWN store on THEIR OWN platform(s) priority.
Lore, let's say you made a new tablet or phone and it came with a storefront that you yourself curate. Are you going to willingly give some other storefront equal footing to you on a platform YOU own?
Epic acts all high and mighty, but anyone putting thought in it should realize it's just them doing what they feel the need to to overtake the market.
If there comes a moment where they ever take majority stake of the digital market, they'll take bigger percentage on games sold, and the free games will come less and less frequent.
These are the guys who sold a large percentage of their shares to Tencent. Let's be real here.
Hard for me to support his company when 40% is owned by Tencent who microtransactions are forced into everything they touch. Greedy mega Chinese company trying to monopolize the gaming industry and Epic is paving the way to help them.
Make an Unreal Engine based phone, make a mobile epic store and set those developer friendly policies of yours in place and keep all the trash out. Theme phones with Fortnite decals and profit
