"So this is happening" - what we want from Platinum Games' surprise E3 reveal

Dealspwn: "Platinum Games are announcing a new title this E3, alongside Scalebound, which has got us all rather hot under the collar. Perhaps a little sticky. Metaphorically. With anticipation and, you know, stuff.

The fact that we love Platinum Games is a matter of public record, but we're also excited because Scalebound's creative director has been teasing us mercilessly. "So this is happening," JP Kellams tweeted. "It will surprise you. Might even make you cry."

It's an interesting turn of phrase that we'll discuss later, but for now, let's discuss what we hope the announcement might be. Starting with one of the games that has topped our wishlist for years."

While I'm not too fussed about Bayonetta, I would absolutely pay all the money for another Metal Gear Rising.

-Foxtrot1280d ago

I'd take Bayonetta over Rising any day

Rising just felt like a new IP from them but with a MGS skin. The style didn't really fit well into the MGS Universe

DarkOcelet1280d ago

I would Vanquish 2 over Bayonetta and MGS Rising 2 any day.

Big_Game_Hunters1280d ago

I'd take Wonderful 102 over any platinum sequel. The best gameplay imo and the only story ive ever actually liked from a Platinum game.

Vanquish 2

They have done exclusive for Nintendo

And doing one for ms

Maybe now they will do one for Sony

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory1280d ago

that holds no water. Platinum doesnt decide if a game is exclusive or not.

showtimefolks1280d ago

You do know they are independent right? They can decide anything

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory1280d ago

sure they are.

But it depends on the publishers. Bayonetta 2 was coming to PS3 and X360 before Sega dropped it.

Nintendo came along and funded it making it an exclusive because they paid for it.

They are mercenaries they work under their publisher for whatever game. If exclusive or multiplatform that depends on the publisher not them.

Which why Kamiya said ask Nintendo if you want Bayonetta 2 on other platforms because they own the game not Platinum.

I can almost make a bet, that it will be metal gear rising 2, especially after that image/teaser on that trailer from psx. but i nearly certain it wont be exclusive.

DarkOcelet1280d ago

I am betting its Devil May Cry V with collaboration with Capcom.

Brotard1280d ago

platinum did say that the 2 was for the second anniversary of metal gear,

but who knows that could have been a slip up and them covering for it we will see

mikel10151280d ago

Do you guys really think Konami is going to make a MGR2 after everything that has happened especially with no Kojima? They are going exclusively mobile with nothing but PES sticking around, maybe not even that in the future.

Big_Game_Hunters1280d ago (Edited 1280d ago )

Based off tweets it will either be DMC5 collab with capcom, or the rumored Angel Blood collab with Nintendo.

LOL at that #3. Bayonetta 2 is owned by Nintendo, i can't believe people still don't understand this.

MehmetAlperTR1280d ago

Nintendo didnt Own Bayonetta.. They were just publisher.. Just like Microsoft is Publisher for Rise Of The Tomb Raider. We dont know if Nintendo has a deal forever or just for a time limited.

Big_Game_Hunters1280d ago (Edited 1280d ago )

They don't own bayonetta, they own bayonetta 2. We do know if its a deal forever or limited time. The answer is it isn't a deal. Nintendo100% paid for Bayonetta 2, they own the game's assests. Is that so hard to understand?

Bayonetta 2 (ベヨネッタ 2 Beyonetta Tsū?) is an action hack and slash video game developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo for the Wii U, with franchise owners Sega serving as advisor.[5] It is the sequel to the 2009 game Bayonetta, and was directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba and Hitoshi Yamagami from Nintendo, under supervision by series creator Hideki Kamiya.[6]
