Splatoon is Pretty Much Destiny

Its nothing like destiny, destiny takes some skill to play (not much but some) splatoon can be played by someone with one hand and half a brain and you can still win, it is by far the most casual game I have ever seen in my 30 years of gaming, I have a feeling it was aimed at people in the ages of 4 to 8

Please log on to slaptoon so we can beat you 98 to 2.... seriously man cod... how about quake. You are calling it casual but have not played it. It's ok... sit there and camp... we will just paint around you. The level design breaks all of you preconceived ideas of how to win.

Genuine question and not an accusation... Have you played it? I wasn't sure either (I'm 41) but picked up a copy on a whim and I've been really impressed by it. It's as shallow as a puddle (pun intended) on first impression but once you get used to it and have a few matches under your belt you soon start (th)inking tactically. And ranked mode is on another level entirely, it's almost intimidating. It's Nintendo at their best - make it simple but make it nuanced.

An entire map to cover in Ink in order to win, does not constitute a king of the hill mode, which generally focus on one or more key areas instead of a whole map.
Splat Zones in Ranked Battles is about as close as the game ever gets to being a pure king of the hill/domination-type game.
Even then, the areas outside of the zone hold importance for filling up your special gauge and limiting your opponents travel capabilities as much as possible.
Both of which are not things present in most other games with a king of the hill mode.
Methinks, figuratively speaking, you need to quit calling a squid a salmon, because calling Splatoon's multiplayer generic, is fishy logic, at best.-_-;;

It is not Nintendo fans hyping the game little boy, it is the reviewers.

The main complaint is lack of online content in reviews, bit Nintendo has already dropped more content, with lots more on the way.

Which is fine for Destiny, since the objectives and locational information in Destiny are so different from what Splatoon shows/uses that Destiny sort of requires it for proper team coordination.

I can't imagine raids and other such co-op efforts on much larger maps working out nearly as smoothly without VC in Destiny, but do please tell me if I'm wrong about that...

i really think this could be another mario kart type of hit for nintendo, its a shooter and its so fun to play, i get the same fun feeling playing this game as mario kart 64 battle mode with the 3 ballons.

Dumb, Splatoon is more like a mobile shooter. Go, but lacks alot of things that shooters have.

Plus Destiny alot more skill and team work then this game.

Actually slaptoon has a bunch of things fps need. The cracken morph, the true hide and seek nature,more defensive weapons that can change how you move I haven't even touched the single player game yet. It been hot and heavy online. You also get to play against people from over seas more. Always loved that on pc. The remote bomb is very cool. This game has a ton of play styles. It will test any fps fans evade and counter skills.

The truth is you should play it. Going back to cod is pretty boring afterwards. Plus I'm already good at that.

Oh yeah the maps really are special once you figure them out. Everyone plays so different.

Yeah, I also felt Splatoon was a bit like destiny, only more fun, despite Destiny beeing this behemoth of a game that tries to conve depth and story, at the end of the day, its just a shooter with RPG elements. But Splatoon has the roller, and it rocks :)

What drugs are you on? Splatoon is absolutely nothing like Destiny (Digital Guardian Edition here). If anything it is like Super Mario Galaxy-lite with Plants vs Zombies GW multiplayer.
