Gamer's Palace: "Looking for a funracer on PS4 or Xbox One? This is your choice!"
Richy takes a look at Beach Buggy Racing on the Nintendo Switch.
Beach Buggy Racing is a decent kart-racer; the driving is fun, the items are bonkers, and you’ll likely be playing it for some time. Perhaps enjoyed best in small bursts, and without the expectation of it being a mega-serious racer, the game does offer some easy-to-play fun for both solo players and groups of family or friends. It can’t steal Mario Kart’s pole position and it suffers from a couple of little niggles but for a fraction of the price it does offer an acceptable alternative.
VGChartz's Evan Norris: "It would be easy to take a quick look at Beach Buggy Racing and write it off as shovelware. It's not. It's a surprisingly fun kart racer with lots of single player content and local multiplayer options for four friends. Tighter steering, more tracks, and an extra layer of polish would make it even better."
This game is a true sleeper hit. The only thing it's missing is online Multi player.
This game makes me wish Sony would do an HD Re Master of Mod Nation Racers! I absolutely loved that game on PS3/Vita and I'd give anything for Sony to port it over to PS4 at 1080p/60fps along with all the user-created content!
Oh and I disagree completely with this review score. It's way too high for a game that clearly no effort was made for console optimization or inclusion of online play. In this day and age that is unacceptable for a racer. I know it's only 9.99 but we didn't buy our consoles to play mobile games. Next time Vector, take the time and effort to optimize your code to take advantage of the power of these consoles please.
