You didn't read the title wrong, there's an actual thing as a Bovine Defense Force in The Witcher 3 now to stop people from exploiting game's economy. Basically people were killing cows, selling their hide and meditating in order to get more cows to kill to get easy money in the Witcher 3. Now, the good developers at CD Projekt Red didn't see it as a problem in the traditional sense I suppose because they added what is basically a boss-type monster that will kill you if you attempt something similar in the updated version of the Witcher 3.
According to Polish podcasters Rock and Boris, CD Projekt RED is reportedly planning a third DLC for The Witcher 3, set to release in 2026.

they really don't have to stop the ppl from killing cows.
I'm pretty sure these are the same ppl who killed cows in the secret cow level of Diablo 2. Just give the cows some axes.
