EG:
Much has changed since Carmageddon first crashed onto the scene in the spring of 1997. Back then, damage modelling in your typical racing game involved slapping a few scuffs on the paintwork and maybe a crack in the windshield, while the idea of aiming your car at helpless screaming bystanders and having their viscera sprayed at the screen in exchange for added time was seemingly - if the brief period of tabloid hysteria was anything to go by - beyond all common decency.
VVV: "Carmageddon Reincarnation has received a special Christmas update adding some new crazy cars to mercilessly mow down pedestrians with.
The third update introduces players to the Blitzkrieger, the first tracked wheel to feature in the game driven by recurring character Heinz Faust. As such, the Heinz Faust is an updated version of the tracked vehicle from the first Carmageddon. Both share design inspirations from Mercedes - the original was quite obviously based on a Mercedes SLK, whereas the updated car seems to be based on a modern Mercedes SLS."
Stainless Games has released a new update for Carmageddon: Reincarnation that improves the game’s performance and visuals. As the team noted, with this patch there is a 15-25% increase across the board on 1080p, standard settings.
Lol, influence from death race 2000 was heavy when it first released, and looks even better now. Pretty cool to see this upgraded to the way it looks now. Pretty cool.
