The third and final instalment of The Evil Within downloadable content comes in the form of The Executioner. A tale of a father who enters STEM to rescue his daughter who is trapped within it. The STEM project is the brainchild of Ruvik, The Evil Within’s main antagonist and is a system that allows multiple minds to be compressed together into one. Once connected the subject can then experience the memories of the person they are connected to.
The Evil Within started with so much promise. It's time for this underappreciated franchise to make a return for modern audiences.
Definitely. 'Another Chance' is poor wording though, because it makes it sound like the first two weren't good games - they were.
I'm hoping we'll get a sequel now that GW Tokyo is out. TEW3 would seem to be the next obvious title to work on for Tango.
Oh totally
For me the Evil Within II was like the jump between Assassins Creed and Assassins Creed II, it was fantastic and they fleshed out Sebastian so much.
I know they've said before it probably will be the end of his story but I'm hoping for one more game, Ruuvik is still out there so hopefully he will pull Sebastian back in somehow to get his revenge.
Loved the first one a lot, bought part 2 but the disc got damaged, didn't get very far. I'll give it a play on Game Pass eventually.
IGN:
The Evil Within’s final story DLC takes the main game’s survival-horror genetics and throws them away in favour of a more conventionally violent, first-person action experience. It’s an odd choice, considering stealthy challenge and originality were such highlights of The Evil Within, and while The Executioner is a fun and rather cathartic change of pace, it’s missing something special.
From GameWatcher.com: "You can find my full review of The Evil Within: The Assignment and my Watcher Think? of The Consequence elsewhere on the site, where you'll see I was greatly impressed. Juli Kidman's story was better than the main game, and I said that if The Executioner was just as good then this'd be the first time that a Season Pass was better than the main game. It's not.".
The Evil Within looks even more messed up than before with The Executioner, and I say that in all honesty.
