Krautscape, Yet Another Steam Early Access Game, Is Likely Dead

GG3 writes: "In early April of that year, the project with bird cars moved to Steam’s Early Access program to 'collect, analyze and engage with the community.' A price for the multiplayer title is set at a reasonable bar of €7.99. The plan is to raise the price to €9.99 after Early Access. That is, if there ever is a post-development era. As of this post, Krautscape is dead. In fact, the racing game was nearly stillborn."

A track editor would have been awesome in MK8, I'd have also settled for procedurally generated tracks that could be saved for future races.

Nice to see some alternatives for other platforms, but I've never played a Kart game that can match the feel of MK!

The nearest I've got is the recent Sonic titles, but they are not quite there (but fun) - and I'd love to see a Mario / Sonic Kart cross-over - if they could do it for the Olympics games, why not MK! As lonmg as it was made by the team responsible for MK8! :)

I know what you mean. MK will always remain the basis for comparison. I did really enjoy Diddy Kong Racing back in the day, though.

Entertainment Buddha's Owen Hibbert writes: "Krautscape is the upcoming arcade racer from developer Mario von Rickenbach and it certainly looks to be reinventing the standard way a driving game plays. Players are no longer constricted to the confines of the road in Krautscape, they now have complete freedom to do as they please (within the games rule set, of course)."
