Interesting...people don't get just because all cores and GPU cores are used + ram doesn't mean the game is optimized.

I mean it's definitely taking advantage of the hardware, but it's nowhere near optimized.

Take for example (well a very generic and out of context one). Let's say I program a game, then i add a random Pi to Inf calculate in it...it will use 100% of cpu and yet
still run like garbage...just because the Pi Addition

Now if you use the general Idea and add unoptimized scripts with pointless loops and checks you add more CPU usage more memory usage and with Textures not properly compressed or used it will result in a bloody mess.

So I really hate when Devs state "we're using 100% of the console" because it's a play on words.

Yes they are, but not efficiently.

Hmm, is this the first confirmation that the Wii U's OS takes up a whole core? I guess it makes sense, I just never heard it confirmed.

It's also most likely to do with the Gamepad Streaming as well.

PROJECT CARS for me it is not as good as forza or gt in terms of gameplay.
the bigests flaws for me is
-the open-pointless "campaign mode"
-no customization for the cars
-few favorite cars to select
-AND the so hard to play with joypads.
you must get a proper Steering Wheel if y want to enjoy the game.....
As for graphics every developer uses the hardware the way
he wants....

I seriously am not enjoying this career mode. I even liked GT5's "career" mode more. Project Cars can be a joy, but its really, really unforgiving. Which I'm OK with, I expected it. However, I think my biggest gripe is the dang animation for the steering. Barely adjust turning and the guy moves the wheel like 40 degrees. Thats not how a 70s VW steers, much less a 2 million dollar race car. Its distracting.

Can someone explain why they're bothering with a Wii U version and not just doing a PS3/360 version while they're at it? I mean it'd make sense for a ROI and stuff.

Because the wiiu is more powerful than ps3/360. It's just not as powerful as the ps4 /xo. If they're struggling to get it to run on wiiu then there's absolutely no chance they'd get it to run on ps3/xbox360.

Well, I would argue that Xbox 360 chips and PS3 Cell can handle more than WiiU's three dolphins. This game is heavy on the CPU side, not the GPU, so it would be easy to drop the detail and calculate the physics on PS3 and X360.

@Gamer777 @Tapani Wiiu's CPU is more efficient than PS3/XONE CPUs... and Wiiu's GPU has more cache than last gen GPUs too... So if they are struggling with the Wiiu at 720/30, it would be just impossible to launch this game in PS3/X360.

@Gamer777. All 3 current gen systems actually have weaker CPUs than the PS3 and there isn't much difference between the CPUs in the 3 current gen systems. The WiiU CPU is more powerful than the 360s.

PS3 CPU = 240 Gflops
360 CPU = 77 Gflops
PS4 CPU = 102 Gflops
XBone CPU = 112 Gflops
WiiU CPU = 99 Gflops

PS3 GPU = 229 Gflops
360 GPU = 240 Gflops
PS4 GPU = 1.84 Tflops
XBone GPU = 1.2 Tflops
WiiU GPU = 352 Gflops

Wow, I knew the ps3's cpu was a beast, but seeing the number stacked together like that. It makes me almost wish Sony went with a upgraded Cell for the ps4.

Ask Bullfrog or Black Box or Tiburon or Studio 33 or Criterion or any of the previously acquired developers who made racing games as competition, or as developers of EA games, then eventually dissolved into oblivion or reassigned. Just ask them. They'll tell you why.

Oh. I forgot. Even Code Masters were absorbed into Criterion. Another racing developer EA took over.

Every racing developer either absorbed by EA or eventually destroyed by them. They either kill competition or have them in the end make Need 4 Speed for them.

Not when it's because it didn't meet some crazy margin. It's like if something doesn't make EA a billion dollars on day one (I'm exaggerating that figure of course), they swiftly put it out to pasture.

Much like if you're spending money on what's a bad investment for your desired goals, you'd do away with it, if you're wise. We should try to get away from thinking we know more about business than individuals that have been doing it for decades. Perhaps you could benefit from going into business instead of wasting all of your talents in comment sections. It's clear that you're the missing piece that EA's been looking for.

EA sets unrealistic expectations of their more niche developers, yet continue to fund absolute blunders like DICE and the Battlefield series year after year.

Original Project CARS creator trying to re-hire EA team

Ian Bell, the founder of Slightly Mad Studios, is aiming to hire former Project CARS employees to work on his upcoming GTR Revival project.

If it's just going to be another sim-cade that doesn't do either one correctly then no thanks.

Project CARS 2 was a step in the right direction but the physics still aren't where they should have been, so what did they do for PC3? Go completely arcade. That killed the franchise.
