The Witcher 3 Max Settings @ 60FPS w/ SweetFX

In this video, LUGO Gaming shows off The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt cranked up to max settings @ 60 FPS. Along side all that sexy, we show off the Sweet FX preset I'm using courtesy of Powerplay. If you notice stuttering during the video, it is due to XSplit recording and taking up resources. My typical FPS is 65-75 with SweetFX on.

Which do you prefer... off or on?

I must say it does look like quite nice with the SweetFX Mod, gives that bit more of an edge to the game and makes it feel more realistic. Plus I think it contrasts better with the brutality of the world of The Witcher, suits the tone better than the normal colorful filter, which looks cartoony in comparison to this.

Like how dark movies get darker color palettes (e.g. The Dark Knight) and funny optimistic movies are bright and colorful (e.g. The Avengers). Didn't mean to pick super hero movies, first two that came to my head.

Anyway yeah, given the choice I think I'd go for it with SweetFX ON myself, adds more to the game I think.

There is quite a difference... just looks more realistic.

I was surprised at how well you could tell a difference, even with YouTubes horrid compressing haha. Glad you enjoyed it, and I completely agree!

Witcher 3 with Sweetfx is candyland free.

SweetFX is such an awesome tool. I use it in so many games. It's great because it allows all of us to tweak the look of games to our personal tastes.

Personally, I'm enjoying the color in The Witcher 3. It's refreshing after so many dark games I've played lately. And the weather and lighting conditions do get quite dark at times so there's still some diversity. But I'll definitely try some SweetFX tweaks just to enjoy a different look, either a little later on in the game or on a second playthrough.

I like it vanilla so far based on the ones I've seen. Anyway, always great to have options.

I've got a version running and it makes SUCH a difference.

Only thing that sucks is software like Afterburner has to be turned off, so all your card's overclocking goes back to default, because of the software overlay interfering with SweetFX.

Have not tried it yet on Witcher 3, but I do not play GTAV without SweetFX.

All mods are free that I know of.

CDPR have promised to release a DX12 update patch post release. Lets see if they stay true to their word this time. Be very interesting to see the difference then. I'll be glad to see the back of the horrible pop in which I would imagine it would fix.

Helthurian3672d ago

I'm curious as well about DX12. Not just for The Witcher, but for games in general.

1nsomniac3672d ago

In all fairness I think CDPR will likely follow through & produce the goods. I doubt there will be many other devs at all that will provide DX12 updates post launch though.
