The Witcher 3 get´s in trouble over sexist game design

CD Projekt RED has once again caused a lot of rants over a new "The Witcher" title. And "The Witcher 3" is no exception. As the game has been accused of being both "sexist" and "misogynist".

As it´s said that "The Witcher 3´s" game design is full of sexism and misogyny. But is that really the case?

Me and my two brothers LOVE The Witcher 3. It´s one of the best action/RPG games ever made. The game is a must buy for everyone that enjoys games of that kind.

I never played a Witcher game before, but I just started Witcher 2 last week (skipped The Witcher) and so far I'm really liking it. I just finished the prologue and now it seems like the world is going to open up. I can't say I'm hooked yet, but I have that feeling that I'm about to be.

Imagine seeing the main protagonist in a thong with a see through shirt on....imagine how awkward that is for you playing the game to be forced to stare at that....this is how a woman feels seeing female characters like this....but hey you can just enjoy the game who cares if you would have to stare at the ass cheeks of Geralt of Rivia for 300 hours.I'm sure from the female perspective women would be spouting the same thing your saying about this if you were complaining about males dressed in sexually revealing clothing....

Um, MGS 2 had a man naked with his @ss in your face lol. I found that to be funny, weird but laughable.

Vampire The Bloodline Masquerade had a male protagonist who walked in the most stupidest way i seen in my whole life but because i was so immersed in the game, i forgot all about it in the first 5 minutes.

So to answer your question, i think people should seriously enjoy life a bit and stop nitpicking everything in front of them.

Yeah imagine if a game introduced a male character with his legs sticking out of a bathtub then panning the camera slowly up the rest of his naked bathing body. Imagine if he was forced to walk around topless for periods of the game or wearing nothing but a tiny towel.

You people don't know the true horror of a woman having to look at another woman's body with the aesthetically pleasing parts highlighted. As we all know, the female body is an ugly ugly thing and should always be hidden away. That's as obvious as the fact that a woman cannot be a sexual being and also have other worthwhile qualities.

I doubt normal men would play such a game that was aimed at gay men. They wouldn't try to censor or ban it, either.

The Witcher is clearly a game made for normal men, so the people who can't appreciate that i.e. SJWs, insecure feminists and other anti-male puritans, can avoid it if they don't like it.

Like I said in my comment a "little" is okay every now in then...nothing is wrong with the something appealing sexy. But the points you are making have a flaw...he is not naked 100% throughout most of the game.....the way the female characters are dressed....it's not like its for one scene or anything...your stuck with it for the whole game.
Should of been more specific in my comment, thought people would understand what im meaning. Not just a scene but throughout the whole game.

But Witcher 3's sexism is not a problem...I would hardly call it "sexist" like this article claims it is. My comment and this comment is more directed towards the people down playing sexsism in games for females.

Nudity is fine........imagine playing as snake with no shirt on throughout the whole game...it would be f*cking stupid....this is what a lot of female gamers feel like when they see a half naked girl character throughout a whole game. Witcher 3 does not do this...but I could name a few games that do.

To be fair, she did have some valid points. Her problem is she often catered to those with an extremist viewpoint of the issue while also taking some of her source material within a game out of context. I think anyone familiar with the gaming industry will agree that there is still the occasional moment where something sexist happens within a game or the industry itself.

However, our biggest problems lie in the fact that there are a minority of extremists on both sides attacking everyone with a different opinion. Those in the middle then tend to just stay quiet about the topic because they don't want to deal with idiots on the internet verbally assaulting them for trying to have a legitimate discussion.

This isn't just on the topic of sexism, however; it happens with every topic inside and outside of gaming. It's ridiculous how difficult and rare it is to have a real conversation about any topic.

Back in the setting the game takes place, it was acceptable for one to be nude. This isn't sexist, this is called staying true to the setting. Like how some americans were bashing the game for the character's name Yennifer being Yennifer and not Jennifer.

Well many people never do any research. If people did do research they would realize that the letter J wasn't even invented until the 1600s. This games setting takes place around the 1300s so that's why her name is Yennifer, instead of Jennifer. The developers are showing historical accuracy to the game.

We need some regulation in game reviews that states you can no longer tie your personal beliefs into a game review. So many devs literally lose hundreds of thousands just because the game they made didn't score high enough. I don't agree with publishers using a review score to determine if hardworking people should get paid extra, but it happens and there's little anyone can do about it.

Btw polygon and kotaku are literal cancer to everyone and by looking at their fish food articles you get snatched in.
