The next patch for the free Battlefield 2 mod ‘Project Reality’ is on the way. Patch 1.3 will be adding some new major features to Project Reality. Features like place-able roadblocks and new weapons will be included in the new patch.
After the recent announcement that Gamespy would no longer support hundreds of multiplayer games, a BF2 mod and a security analyst came together to create their own version of Gamespy that's open source for anyone.
Project Reality is a free mod for Battlefield 2, which features large real-world warfare scenarios. The mod aims to create a more realistic combat environment than the standard BF2, and other wargames on the market, with greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation.
Where can these sorts of games really go now, Bring on the PAIN suits... I didn't say rumble I said PAIN.
Project Reality Studios has announced that the latest version of its Battlefield 2 mod Project Reality has been released and is now available for download.
The objective of the mod is to rework the original game engine developed by Dice to create a more realistic combat environment, adjusting various gameplay elements including physics, visual effects and overall gameplay formats.
Cant wait for BC2 to release and the modding community to start its work.

This is one of the many reasons why I love gaming on the PC. I remember going nuts about the silenced Dragunov sniper rifle mod for Fallout 3. That was so cool. Mods FTW.
