PS Blog:
I’m here today with a short blog entry to talk about the update that we’re rolling out this week for Scram Kitty DX, which brings some really neat new changes to the game on PS Vita and PS4!
Firstly, anyone who has played Scram Kitty knows that the game is a 360-degree platforming/shooter hybrid, in which you speed around giant space stations collecting kidnapped cats and blasting their rodent captors.
Push Square: "Scram Kitty DX is a hard game to get to grips with, but is a wonderfully unique take on some more traditional genres. And with its wacky story of cats versus space mice, as well as its old-school aesthetic, it offers a highly enjoyable experience. Certainly there'll be those put off by its stiff challenge and lack of instruction, but if you're up to the challenge, this should prove an excellently absurd addition to your gaming library."
GA:
The very best casual games work largely because they're so intuitive. Whatever you may think of the broader merits of the likes of Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, or Jetpack Joyride, there's no denying that you can figure out what to do with them within moments of picking them up. There may be nuances and depths that take awhile to reveal themselves, but for the most part, they're the definition of "pick up and play".
K Nicol writes for P&L:"While Scram Kitty DX is a fun game, it is needlessly difficult. You will wish for far more practice to slowly work your way up the pain scale and practise your kitty rescue skills before finding yourself in an impossibly hard situation that you struggle to get out of."
