Project CARS is the first racing sim to claim No.1 in UK retail charts since 2013

Bandai Namco’s long-anticipated crowdfunded driving game has zoomed to number one in the UK charts.

Project CARS shot to the top in its debut week, making it the first four-wheeled racing sim title to take the position since Codemasters’ GRID 2 two years ago in 2013.

Launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the Slightly Mad Studios-developed game is also the very first boxed product to hit retail with support for 4K resolutions and upcoming VR headsets Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus.

The story is too old to be commented.

GRID 2 isn't a racing sim. It doesn't even have cockpit view!

Isn't Project CARS the only thing close to a sim that came out after 2013?

For those interested, here are the platform splits for Project Cars in UK.

It did very well on PS4 considering the UK platform split.

Nor surprising since gamers on xb1 has Forza Horizon and 5 and the recent Furious expansion to keep them busy as well also knowing Forza 6 will be released soon. There is only so much room for racing game on a single console. Forza is huge on UK. On the PS4, there aren't any great racers on the console, so the starving racing fans would most likely buy more of it on PS4. Simple logic.
