Just a nice game. I had played better 3D platformers than this one but it worth his money.

Yeah, having to revisit areas with every Kong can get repetitive, and the minigames are brutal, but overall, it's still a lot of fun. These days the flaws stand out more, so it's easier to see that games like Mario 64 and Banjo are better, but I couldn't help but genuinely have a great time replaying DK64.

Clean but still the same N64 graphics which don't hold up well today like a lot of other N64 games. As a platformer it's good but not great, I had way more fun with the multiplayer mode.

I mean, the graphics are identical to the N64 original, though everything looks cleaner overall and is enlarged nicely on an HD TV screen, though it has huge black borders on each side.

It also looks pretty good on the Wii U GamePad, and I found myself playing it on there most of the time.

The graphics don't hold up as well as some other games, but that's really only an issue as far as in-game textures go. Everything has a retro polygonal look to it, and the character models are pretty charming. I actually thought it looked pretty good.

I put a lot of hours into the multiplayer mode playing with friend and family members, it was pretty good for back then.
