GT5P: Damage Modeling Still in the Works

"Earlier in the year, Polyphony Digital founder Kazunori Yamauchi (now of GT:TV fame, Top Gear next) mentioned that "maybe by Fall we'll be able to implement it [ie. damage modeling]," and confirming that it would be included as a patch to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Their plans haven't changed."

The story is too old to be commented.

I bet this is so difficult for them with the cars being so high in detail and all.

medicshelley3743d ago

so true. Polyphony Digital craves for perfection and you know they won't release this just for the heck of it. Once damage is added I'll go pick this game up

Its more of balancing the workload of making GT5 and tweaking GT5P. I hope we get to see damage sooner than later. I heard GT5 might be last in the series and polyphony will just be adding updates from there. So i really hope they get everything they want like weather effects, damage modelling, customization, car auctioning e.t.c.

...the game looks absolutely amazing. I've had people think GT was a television show until I paused the game. If they do it right, which I have no doubts that they will, updating the game with add-on content is all they will need to do after this game drops.

For this game in particular it's VERY hard for me to see the graphics getting better then this. The only thing they could possible do in my eyes to improve the graphics is to make the spectators look more realistic and react to the race. For example if you crash too close to them they move away from your car or try to avoid being hit.

I don't care how long it takes. Nothing on any console feels like GT5P. And with them upping the ante with expanded GT5 TV I can't wait, but I will anyway.

Come on Gran Turismo, make the jump to current-gen... I believe in you

Tmac3743d ago

Make the jump to leave N4G, or do you need Moderator encouragement like last time?

SO very laughable when all the 360owners have is Forza, a 'simulator' that looks about as nice as GT4.

Have fun with that. And those physics. OMG (gasps)

poopsack3743d ago

Its still stuck on last gen but happens to look more photorealistic than everything on the 360.

I traded it in for MGS4 since i was short 10 bucks :(

Anyways its good to hear its still in the works and if PD keep surtporting Prologe with new track and free stuff then it should make the long wait for GT5 a bit shorter

Hmmm what im afraid of is that the damage modeling won't be on par wit how good the game looks. If they get modeling it better not be like forza's...

PoSTedUP3743d ago

id like to see what they doo with it considering how much work they put into their games ya know. im expecting it to be very realistic.
