Thats good to hear. Been waiting for this to release.

poppinslops3706d ago

Indeed... now it's time for Facebook to put their money to work by promoting the Hell out of it.

good luck with game support (the same goes for ProjMorph )...i highly doubt that VR machines will succeed entering in our homes ....

starchild3706d ago

This is the news I've been waiting to hear. It shall be mine.

Only been waiting 5 years for this to release as they keep holding out for new tech to release the item. A bit like holding on to buy the newest tv which you will never buy as always something better around the corner.

Blues Cowboy3706d ago

This or Vive?

Gonna be a tough one, but glad to see the pioneer will be releasing next year. VR owes it a lot even if it's not the machine that ends up enduring (not saying that it won't, just saying that there will need to be competition to create an industry).

Perjoss3706d ago

Vive might not be for everyone as I think most people will be getting into VR for a sit down experience. Unless somehow Valve manages to sell it for cheaper than Oculus even though it has extra tech.

Will be really interesting to see the final specs for all models, and hear more info about games compatibility between Vive and Oculus.

Exciting times.

I don't think valve would be dumb enough to make it standing only. But, seeing what they tried with mods its a possibility I guess

Taero3706d ago

How would they make it standing only anyway? Surely it's down to the dev to make use of the 3d space that vive would provide, if they code the game to only take input from rotation and movement within say a 3ft3 space then that is basically sitting down and moving your head around.

Im not getting this at all. Dont want such a big thing on my head

Peace_Love_and_FPS3706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

Cool, really contributive comment there, son. That's quite good for you :)

I won't either, because I'll probably get vive as it's releasing first

kmanmx3706d ago

Try it before you knock it. Oculus bought out an award winning electronics design company to make sure the headset was as light and comfortable as possible. It's designed to 'disappear' while you're wearing it.

I think once you try it you'll love the experience, as will most naysayers.

jv19913706d ago

No i wont like it at all ill play my games normal without anything on my head. I dont need virtual reality

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook7778d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt778d ago (Edited 778d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal778d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow778d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal778d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt778d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
