As new games are going to be released by EA over the next few years, games like Mirror's Edge 2, Star Wars Battlefront and the new Need for Speed will only be coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC, according to comments made by EA today.
They should! Last gen had a great run, now let it rest.
And let the current gen shine! We're starting to see what current-gen only games are capable of and it's impressive. Hope the new Need for Speed is current-gen only too!
Yeah, i agree, i hope its current gen only too.
No Wii U!? ROFLMAO
It's no secret EA has stated that they would not make games for the WiiU. http://gamepolitics.com/201...
Well, it's not funny. It's annoying Nintendo rested on the laurels of Mario games (understandably there was a lot more factoring into the Wii's success *cough* children *cough* :D) plus being a cheap, family-oriented console (admittedly that was sort of the start of gaming). A games system failing, for gaming as a whole and a community, isn't something we ought to be happy about. An exception would be IF M$ stuck with their initial B$ plans for "the future". https://youtu.be/6RtSGFryKw... the future quote is at 12:30, but I want people to see how big of a tool "Major Nelson" makes himself out to be within the span of a minute.
nintendo player must agony, this is what they get to prefer playing kirby like games!
I agree, we're two/three years in. Let's start focusing on these latest consoles.
We're half of three years into this gen. of consoles. Three years ago, developers were knee-deep in the process of creating launch games. I still gave you an "agree" vote since I'm with you about focusing on the current gen.
This is kinda a given in and from what i heard ME2 is going to be open world so you know its going to have to run on new hardware. i just hope they don't muck it up
I wonder what excuse they'll use once the NX is out... it's gonna be interesting
As long as Nintendo releases the NX with similar power to the next generation of consoles, not PS4 and One, the next ones ;) then EA wont have to make excuses, they'll just develop for it. But something tells me that they will just do their own thing again.
Sweet news, hopefully Mirror's Edge 2 is sick as well
It's hard to believe that EA is giving Mirror's Edge another go. As much as I don't trust them, this was one of their best bets in years. I remember Mirror's Edge being one of my favourite games of 2008 (and that was an amazing year with games like Fallout 3, Dead Space, No More Heroes, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet, Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4). So memorable. I remember being struck by the visual style and the exciting free-running mechanics. The combat was its main flaw, and the story could have done with more work, but I'm sure DICE are focusing on these 2 aspects. Spring 2016 is the scheduled release date too: http://www.videogamer.com/p... 2016 is going to be an amazing year for games, with an amazing start: Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, Quantum Break and ME2.
thats is great news
I didn't even know that was news, I thought it was to be expected that Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect 4 and Biowares other new RPG etc would all be next gen only? (or current gen only to most). EA is likely like other publishers still going to make last gen games though....this doesn't mean they are 100% not making last gen games....merely means for their major titles. EA released PS2 games up until 2012 lol. Yes...that happened.
Well we all have to accept that current gen is the now. I would love for more games to come out for last gen, but the time is now to adapt to the newer consoles.
It's kinda obvious. WiiU is kinda hard to develop for when you think about the hardware limitations. Would be a pain in the ass when they constantly improve their engine. If wiiU sold more or had better software sales then that might have been a different story.
Totally fine with this
Translation: Die last gen, die! Mwahahahaha!
Fine whatever, just make the damn game already! (Mirrors Edge 2)
