keep telling myself to stop watching these videos hence spoiling the game, but I cant help it; it just looks so damn good...think I need help :)

thekhurg3279d ago

I've watched a lot of stuff, but no way am I going to spoil the experience with a 45 minute video! Not going to watch anything else on this game except for the promised console footage that is incoming.

ArchangelMike3279d ago

I'm the same, I'm quite proud of myself tho that I still haven't wathced the 2 min Ciri footage.

3-4-53279d ago

I'm waiting on this until the price drops to like $30-40.

I've never played this series, but this one looks good.

I have avoided almost everything about this except for one video and a few screenshots a while back.

I hope it's as good as it's supposed to be.

thekhurg3279d ago

Why would you wait for a near 50% price drop on a 200 hour open world game? :\

m1armor3279d ago

If your on pc g2a has it for $33. Thats what I paid.

BlackWolf123279d ago

That's one of the worst and cheapest comments I have ever seen.

This massive open world game, offering a couple hundred hours of gameplay, and you want to wait until it is half price before buying it?

Because fully supporting the developer of such a game, who are also very consumer friendly, is obviously a bad thing to you?

endzeitkind3278d ago

its only 0.02% of the full game. nothing to spoil in this video :D

Really want to play this in 1080p/60FPS on my PC.

gameslayer24113279d ago (Edited 3279d ago )

I just put in a second gtx 980 this weekend for this game I am determined to max it out at 4k but even then I dunno if my rig can handle it at 4k 60fps!

T9003279d ago (Edited 3279d ago )

You really should have waited on that GTX 980 investment for 4k gaming.

The problem with GTX 980 is the limited VRAM, 4GB really isnt enough at all for 4k gaming. I would say a minimum of 6GB is needed for that.

980 ti is just around the corner, would have been a much better option.

gameslayer24113279d ago (Edited 3279d ago )

@thunderbird I own all current gen consoles but I enjoy certain games on my pc. Cost doesn't matter as long as I am getting what I want. You may enjoy strictly gaming on consoles but I game on everything, it is an expensive hobby I know but don't be a jerk about it we are all gamers here regardless of preference.

@T900 I agree the vram isn't great but so far GTAV looks great in 4k using the 980SLI profile. I am hoping for the added power for The witcher but as I said even that might not run it and regardless I'm content with that 1440p is still a good option :D what do you plan on playing the witcher on?

Perjoss3279d ago

"So you spent more on two graphics cards than it cost to buy both PS4 and Xbox One. Wow... "

If you have a job and you love gaming I don't really see a problem. Higher resolutions than 1080 and 60+ fps is very nice, anyone with the funds I highly recommend building a nice gaming PC.

Mega243279d ago

I don't understand all the disagrees we are getting here, but whatever.

@gameslayer2411 I'm gonna rock witcher 3 on my GTX 970 come may 19th. What's more nerve wracking, my finals are the same week!

@T900 Even the Titan X struggles in 4k though, and it has 12GB. I expect DX12 to help a bit with 4k development though.

@thunderbird Some people like their stuff in multiple platforms, he seems to have that disposable income, so why not indulge yourself on stuff you like. I would do the same, but atm I'm limited to PS4, PC, and New 3ds, which sucks a bit.

T9003278d ago (Edited 3278d ago )

@Mega24

Titan X may struggle in 4k, but thats not because of a VRAM bottleneck. Titan X has tons of VRAM. Trust me i have 2 of them.

I play GTA 5 at 3440 * 1440 (this is not 4k), I see about 5.5 GB VRAM consumption. Everything ultra settings and 4X AA. So i would think a GTX 980 would have a tough time at 4k since 4k is about 30% higher resolution than 3440 * 1440.

VickerC3278d ago

@Gameslayer:
I hear that 4K isn't that much more impressive then 1440P (compared to 1080p vs 1440p). Can you confirm this? Also, stable 60fps @1440p, thats already fantastic...

gameslayer24113278d ago

@VickerC 4k is actually pretty impressive, the amount of detail on the screen is just mind blowing, but honestly, 1440p is just as equally impressive in my opinion! I honestly don't care if I can't reach 4k but that was my overall goal lol. Honestly though it might be better to run 1440p because then you can max out all the other settings hopefully!

Sarah_Ch3279d ago

Is it going to run on 60fps on ps4?

gz19873278d ago

Lol @ console 30 fps does it feel slow? Lol ;)

VickerC3278d ago

@gz1987:
a lot has been said about 30fps vs 60fps. But I can tell you the difference is very noticeable. I played GTAV after updating my Nvidea driver. This disabled SLI config without me realising. Maxing everything out, I could only play @30fps. Afterwards I enabled SLI again and could play @60fps. What a difference, I'll pass on 30fps

starchild3279d ago

It's generally a good idea to assume any graphically advanced game on consoles, especially open world games, will be 30fps, unless you specifically hear otherwise. The overwhelming majority of games on consoles this generation are 30fps.

benji1013279d ago

You might get 12fps sometimes.

--bienio--3279d ago

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave19d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan19d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.

Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG

Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1

Inverno43d ago

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name43d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno43d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood43d ago (Edited 42d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno42d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure42d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
