In this review, Logan discusses how liking or disliking The Weaponographist really boils down to a matter of taste, stating - "I guess it comes down to the He-Man vs Pokemon debate, do you prefer a darker game with classic mechanics or a brighter game trying something new. I’m a fan of all roguelikes with any color scheme as long as I can understand what’s going on and even if the game does hold your hand a little bit, there is still enough challenge to give The Weaponographist a seal of approval."

Her village had been overrun by demonic presences, and she requires him to remove these foul beasts. Upon discovering that there would be no pay involved Doug refuses, only to discover that the elderly lady is, in fact, a witch who places a spell upon him, removing his abilities and making him unable to leave the vicinity."
Is it a dungeon crawler, a roguelike, a brawler? Why not all of them?
The Weaponographist is a rogue-like, action game similar in playstyle to the first Legend of Zelda game, or more recently, the Binding of Isaac or A Wizard's Lizard.
