Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Design Director David Vonderhaar talked about the game's current condition.
What? Little over than 6 months to release and the game is still in pre-alpha stage? Oh I can already see BF4 at launch kinda situation.
Pre-alpha just means it's still in full-scale production. Most games are still are when they're 6 months from release, because you can go from pre-alpha to beta to release in like 2-3 months with good planning and execution.
Isn't pre-alpha like one the the first stages of game development? Just look how Assassin's Creed Unity turned out to be on release and it was being developed 4 years. I get it they'll have beta for feedback and to fix all the bugs but I can't see how they gonna finish up the game and polish it to playable state in just 6 months considering they're calling it the biggest COD game yet.
Pre-alpha usually makes up the majority of development time. Let's not forget that this is a Call of Duty game, and not Assassin's Creed: Unity. Ubisoft was actually pushing the technology pretty hard with Unity and it crashed and burned on launch. Call of Duty games are about as safe a bet as you can make from the publisher's standpoint.
whatever it is ..is COD and i m not buying it ...i suggest you also not to buy it (it will do good to them and maybe try to improve their games) and give your money to original concept devs like those of DeusEx 's
Well, the later stages of development are less valuable to a call of duty game than a battlefield game simply because call of duty is just less complex. There are fewer variables interacting at any given moment which translates to fewer possible bugs. I think its a good indication that the games still in pre-alpha, since pretty much all that means is that they are still adding more gameplay features. Just my 2 cents.
2 years pre-pre alpha?Cmon call of duty is copy-paste every year.
Yeah bullshit, i can guarantee the game will look exactly the same as that trailer. Its just copy and paste with a few adjustments on visuals, gameplay etc. This guy is full of shit, 1 year and 4 months in and its still in pre alpha? I can already see the bullshit oozing out of his mouth.
A year and 4 months? No. It's been in development since BO2 came out. 2 years and 4 months is more like it.
Oh yeah that's right i forgot they have 3 years development each. That makes them even bigger liars.
