Miles Tost, a CD Projekt RED level designer, said they are working hard on showing some footage for both consoles in the coming days.
I'm excited to see what's cooking. Be prepared for endless comparisong though.
Yep, and it won't matter in the slightest which version you get. They will all be the same awesome experience.
I know, the graphics just compliment this game. Still, I think for anyone who can choose, PC version would be the way to go.
@XboxDD I have a PC more than capable of running it at 1080p/60fps - but I'm still on the fence about whether to get the PS4 version or not. If it's a stable 1080p/30fps and doesn't look awful PS4 will offer a more comfortable situation. Kicking back on the couch playing on my TV with surround sound is a better environment for me than sitting in front of a PC monitor. It's not an easy choice for everyone.
@thekhurg Consider Witcher is the sort of game that is a collectors item. I personally have W1 and 2 on my steam list, they arent going away and years later i can go back to play them. Thats one of the big advantages of the PC platform. Specially Witcher is not an online game hence i would easily pick the PC version. Grab an HDMI cable play it on your TV from your PC. Also you could grab a blutooth dongle to play wirelessly from you PC.
@T900 I'm not stretching a cable across my living room and moving my PC out just for a video game. Tried it once and it sucks when I play a MMO.
@thekhurg You're not going to be playing a MMO and you can use a controller.
PC Version is always way better 4K bro! i play on xo i have a good pc but not good enough for 4k
@thekhurg You should hook your PC up to your AV system. That's what I do. Have the AV experience of consoles without the 30fps 900p nonsense. Also, why not just use an Xbox controller.
@vegamyster But I *DO* play MMOs, so I'd be forced to swap locations all the time.
As long as dirty disgusting parity hasn't come into play and both consoles are being pushed as far as hardware and budget allows, I won't care.
I'm really hoping we see console footage soon. Miles Tost has been incredibly polite to people on twitter, but he's been saying "soon" to console footage questions for weeks now. I hope those versions are working well though.
I know it was off screen footage but on the Gamespot video they showed all three versions running side by side and they all looked absolutely fantastic so I am not worried in the slightest.
I was worried as well until I saw that footage and reading the weather effects have not been altered on either console. The wind blowing through the trees to the point where it's almost bending over is pretty awesome - it creates such a great atmosphere.
Wind in general can create such a strong atmosphere in video games.
That gets me every time. I don't believe that I've ever seen the environment, trees namely, react to the wind so naturally. Honestly, not only do I think it's the best looking open world environment ever, but also the most natural looking.
Hope they release X1 footage before that pre-order discount expires...
There's like 20 days until launch. I'd guess they'll be showing it within next seven days.
Im not concern about comparisons, i know is 1080p on ps4 and also sure will look really good, cdpr have been very open and direct about working to get the best for each hardware even with the marketing deal they have, my only expectacion is that the frame rate to be smooth
Last I heard ps4 was a little below 1080P
No, they confirmed it to be 1080p and 30 fps on PS4. http://www.gamespot.com/art...
It sure has. I can't wait to play this on my Xbox One. My most anticipated game of the year!
Show it already for crying out loud. I have seen many articles for weeks now where they keep saying footage is coming soon. The game is gold, throw some footage together and let us see. Is there something to hide, if not whats the problem?
Worst case scenario is it should still look better than Dragon Age 3 on consoles as W3 isn't cross gen--It may be more open but the basic rules still apply. Even if it did look just as good as DA3 I had zero qualms with how it looked so I'd be happy since The Witcher's world looks to be designed more "realistically" with a little less static characters/enemies. I have it paid off for PC already but renting on PS4 from Gamefly like I did with DA3. I actually played more on console as I thought it looked and played great well beyond what I was expecting actually so I could very well just "make due" with PS4 version and have a blast not having to even think about platform really (as nowadays I still prefer PC when you get right down to it but consoles today are more than sufficient imo... much more than I expected really). I'll still have PC for later on and once mods start I have that much more reason to play it on PC.
Considering the game has gone gold and is ready to be pressed and shipped i don't understand how they have to prepare footage to show. If your game is done have some type of press event with someone playing the game on both consoles. I think the game is going to be great no matter which platform you play on but cdpr are creating doubt in some people in the quality of the console versions with their secretive attitude towards showing them.
PC or gtfo... this is a PC based game thank you very much :). incoming console troll and fanboys.
Play games, not platforms. While PC version will be more immersive, the consoles won't be that far behind.
They have said. That ps4 version will be compared to the high settings pc version...so thats reeeeally good looking :P so excited...bye bye life...welcome witcher..
