That's quite a stretch, even by Kojima's standards. Grasping at straws.

3-4-52881d ago

That isn't a stretch at all?

Dad referring to father figure of company...aka boss.

Killing them off = firing them.

Will be back = he'll have a new studio

Sounds like others from Konami will be joining him if any of the rumors are to be believed.

* Situation sounds like an angry arrogant boss who doesn't value his employees so he's treating them like crap to force them to want to leave.

deadpoolio3162881d ago

Yes it is a totally stretch, from people with far too much free time on their hands, who just want to come up with any little thing they possibly could

Apex132881d ago

@3-4-5 you are hilarious

linkenski2881d ago

Add "number 23!" to that list and you see why it's a stretch. It's cherry picking.

MoveTheGlow2880d ago

These stories only resemble each other because Konami's games division is a dying nightmare at the moment...

cynicismate2880d ago

The things desperate journalists do for a story...

3-4-52880d ago

I don't even care about this game. Won't be playing it. just saying....to Completely dismiss it is JUST as arrogant.

I never said it WAS fact...just trying to play along for the sake of the argument.

Can't have an open mind and even try to think about things differently?

Not even allowed to suggest or discuss or even put for a thought? just have to arrogantly dismiss it?

It most likely is a stretch, but you guys are arrogant.

rainslacker2880d ago

yep, not a stretch. It also confirms half life 3.

XB1_PS42880d ago

Matches well, I can see it. Why wouldn't it be? What else would it mean if not for that?

garrettbobbyferguson2880d ago

"To completely dismiss it is arrogant"

"Hey, you know those lines of dialogue that were used to set up some eerie back story in PT and possibly set up the story for the new Silent Hills? Those totally are a hidden message of Kojima telling us he's going to be fired a year down the road. Jet Fuel can't melt steel beams Debrah!"

This is the videogame equivalent to the old Elvis sightings from the 80s magazines

Lukejrl2881d ago

Or the 90's Tupac is still alive

WildArmed2880d ago

Kojima has already did his most prestigious troll, he has screwed with so many heads that he has reached Evlis sightings status lol

But yes, this is a huge stretch

Timesplitter142881d ago (Edited 2881d ago )

"PT" = "PleaseKonamiDon' TFireMe"

zidane13412881d ago

Try again next time? Cuz that's PKDFM not P.T.

WildArmed2880d ago

Hah, QUICK MAKE AN ARTICLE :D

shadowknight2032880d ago

For the people that dont grasp the joke..the P in please and T in dont is a stretch in itself, saying that he thinks this article is a stretch. While I donT agree with it being a stretch, Perhaps Kojima is as smart as many believe him to be - it's not a stretch for an intellect individual to do something like this. He couldn't just put it plainly or anyless clever otherwise Konami might have picked up on this. It's just his way of trolling Konami

cynicismate2880d ago

@zidane1341 It's a joke. Calm down and put your pants back on.

THEzRude2880d ago

That symbolism and reference is kinda spot on.

GribbleGrunger2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

I actually don't think it's that much of a stretch. We're talking about Kojima here; a person known for hidden messages and meaning. I'm not saying it's 'true', I'm just saying it's worth considering:

“Dad was such a drag. Every day he’d eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games… Yeah, he was just that kind of guy. But then one day, he goes and kills us all! He couldn’t even be original about the way he did it. I’m not complaining… I was dying of boredom anyway, But guess what? I will be coming back, and I’m bringing my new toys with me.”

Snookies122881d ago (Edited 2881d ago )

Lol, next people are going to say P.T. was really Kojima's resignation and a metaphor for his life working at Konami. An endless cycle that gets darker and darker.

Nah though, it really is a shame such a great concept was lost because of stupid decisions by Konami.

smashman982880d ago

Holy Shit I didn't think of that. wow thats good. TBH though he has been saying he is unhappy for a very long time

Snookies122880d ago

Haha yeah, just sort of came to me. They have been more or less forcing Kojima to keep doing Metal Gear for a long time. I'm curious to see what his next project will be after doing MGS for so long.

bennissimo2880d ago

And imagine how much better MGS would have been if he had been allowed to stop working on them when he wanted to. That series is an utter mess.

MilkMan2881d ago

Its a stretch, but doable. LOL!
