The Order 1886 was criticized for its short length and lack of replay value and yet only 40% of people who played the game finished the story.
Only? That's actually pretty high. More often than not games are in the 20 - 30% range.
For a game that is around 7 hours long and with no multiplayer i find it kind of surprising.
Maybe the cause of incomplaetion its the game itself. Mayb they didn't like the cinematic vibe or linear gameplay with qte's.
9.2% of people finished Transistor, it's only a few hours. 26.9% of people finished Child of Light. 66.9% of people finished Ground Zeroes which is 1 mission. 30.0% of people finished Infamous First Light. 30.5% of people finished the TLOU Remastered on normal.
@Transistor, GZ is hilarious, especially if you look at the numbers for the other missions. So many complained about its length but many didn't even finish the main mission let alone the other smaller side missions.
@Transistor Wow, why are people buying these games lol... Edit: Yeah i never beat GTA 5. Im just kind of tired of the rockstar formula. American dream is dead, blah, drive here, shoot this...
Lol. I think it's a mix of a few things. A) Some people have a problem finishing games, they get to the end and never finish it. B) Some casuals just buy games to mess around. Which is part of the reason GTA is so successful. C) Some people just buy everything that's hyped up or out of fanboyism for exclusives, they just leave it in their backlog and never return. D) Some people aren't skilled enough to finish some games, even on easy mode. The first time I looked at the trophy %'s I was shocked, but I thought about it for a while and it started to make sense. GTA V if I remember is 18.5%. That's out of many many millions too. @Oschino Clearing any other side op in MGS is 42.2%. Less than half the people who played it played less than half of the missions available. Lol.
I'm pretty surprised about the disagree @Transistor. I mean he/she is right, why disagree ? Probably there are a lot of not well informed people ? Also, the article is pretty lame.
Between A.D.D. and porn, I'm surprised that many people finish their games.
I'm a bit surprised as well that 40% only completed the story but before I read the article I was thinking completed from the title meant only 40% got the Platinum trophy and thought that was very good.
Yea especially when 9 out of 10 gamers bitched about the length of it.
I completed it twice and I'm ready for a 3rd playthrough once i'm done on my Bloodborne NG+
Sounds like torture. Guess that's one way to try and feel like you got your moneys worth though.
I've actually heard 10%
Yeah but this is single player only!!!
refer to transistors comment, all those are single player only excluding TLOU, which is not an MP focused game either. I would say 40% is a decent amount of clears.
I finished it and I'd give it a solid 8
Whilst I've read the same thing a few times, 20%-30%, I'm still surprised when you consider it's an action game famous for being rather short.
My first platinum.
Damn! I'm Behind!!!! I love Platinums!
I completed it. I didn't want the game to end.
Same! I platinum'd it in 2 days. Great game imho!
me too! that story is great and I just wanted it to keep going. I can't wait to dive into the sequel
Thank god... I thought I was the only one! Would not hesitate to buy a sequel.
Dang, and Im starting my second play through.
Ive finished the game, Twice :-) I dont get the bad reviews the game has gotten. Its really a Great game.
I enjoyed it personally, but I can't really disagree with any of the common criticisms. Same with Ryse, the criticisms were mostly fair but I still enjoyed it. I like cinematic games with good production values, and enjoyed playing though both. I appreciate them despite their flaws.
Bubble vote for you. Unbiased fair post ... we need more of those.
I am just playing through it now, i only got it Sunday with my PS4 and i was expecting it to be really bad but i am enjoying it a lot.
Thanks for the fun facts, I'm still gonna get this game
Without knowing anything of the game or the style of game, I would probably quit during the opening or not buy the game at all. Then again, the price has come down a lot so it's less offensive. There's a ton of games I actually do enjoy but did not finish. Last one being Wolfenstein. Not even sure why I didn't finish it but you know how it is when you put a game down for a few days and try to play it again but forget how to play it.
Thanks for the completely uninformed opinion. It means a lot.
How is any of what I said uninformed? Or do you feel obligated to reply to anyone that doesn't worship the Order or Ps4 exclusives. If it makes you feel better, Bloodborn should win GoTY. How informed am I now?
"How is any of what I said uninformed?" lol Are you joking? "Without knowing anything of the game or the style of game, I would probably quit during the opening or not buy the game at all. Then again, the price has come down a lot so it's less offensive." ^^^ Uninformed ^^^ (Unless I'm greatly misunderstanding what you said there) "do you feel obligated to reply to anyone that doesn't worship the Order or Ps4 exclusives." I'm not a fan of the Killzone games, but I've played them. What now?
Ok I see. So what I meant was, if I didn't know what the game was about or its style, I'd stop playing through the lengthy opening Instead of simply passing on the game like I did. I just assumed that casual gamers would pick up the Order thinking it was a typical tps and be greatly disappointed when they're Watchung hours of cutscenes instead of playing. Honestly, I watched a stream of the opening and gave up in the middle of of the guy being tortured. If you're not into Killzone, why play them?
So why mention lycan battles in another post in this same page? You trollin' ?
I always wonder this when looking at trophies, usually only 60% or something have gotten the 'play through the introduction mission' in an SP only game?....HOW?
If you guys read it a reasonable explanation is given for why this could be. Lot of people played the game offline where the data isn’t correlated with the trophies. Its likely higher than 40 per cent but a true figure is impossible to know.
It could also be lower
People buy full priced games and don't even finish them? That's like buying a burger combo and tossing out the fries and soda.
You'd be surprised: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Funny thing is I just finished this game yesterday. I would like to see a sequel to continue the story.
Techincally none of us did with that ending. Christ it was bad.
I didn't even bother playing but I'm sure most put it down because it was to boring to finish.
I loved the Order 1886, the people that bad reviewed this have bad taste in games. And these are the people that only play CoD games and sport games. #HatersGonnaHate, but I'm gonna give Order 1886 8.8/10
Ok so we're you really satisfied with the lycan battles? That's a damn near perfect score dude. Are you seriously saying this game is as good as Uncharted or TLoU?
Yeah, but um why do i have 5 Disagrees ._. i gave my honest opinion :(
Story wise I would say so. Game play not the best only part I did not like was fighting the lycans when they run around and it wasn't that bad to me but when you fight them and it is qte fights I actually loved those.
Ha. I get tons of disagrees whenever I criticize Sony, ms, or nintendo. When I defend those 3, I get a ton of agrees or disagrees from whatever camp that happens to dominate the thread. It usually has nothing to do with the points I make. Valid points or not, there's always a group that will disregard whatever you say for the sole purpose of supporting their favorite platform. Sometimes, it gets weird. For example. Back in January when I realized what type of game The Order would be and why it w as necessary for Sony to Move a weaker title out of the previous holiday season, I started telling people to pass on the game and pick up Bloodborn instead. Now we all know that one game is in the running for GoTy and the other isn't even in the running to be considered a good gsme, but during that time till now, I've racked up more disagrees than damn near my entire time on this site. What made it weird was the feeling that if I were not pitting one Sony exclusive against another, the people defending the Order would have turned on Bloodborn. Anyway, I asked the question I asked because 8.8 is a very generous score for a game that's widely regarded as mediocre. Objectively speaking, there's too many issues to ignore in order for the Order to score that high. So again, what specifically makes the game 1.2 points shy of perfection?
this game had me engaged from beginning to end. Im one of the 40%
Simple for me.......if a game bores me I don't finish it and I didn't finish The Order.
I havnt finished it yet either but heres why.. i like to play this game at night so theres no sun glare on my tv. And most nights when im on i play bf hl,bf4 or tlou with my buddies we have such good banta and lols. Much better than spending it alone and missing out on a good ol laugh.. dont get me wrong the order so far ive enjoyed it immensely but bros come 1st..
Wow, that's not a lot. And for a 7-hour game too. Shows how boring it seems to be.
"There’s also the possibility that some played the game, disliked it and returned it for a full refund before the period for returns expired." This could be a huge possibility, but I wonder if it also has anything to do with Bloodborne releasing a month later. I would think people would have switched over to that game and left The Order behind.
So actually more people completed The Order (40%) than The Last of Us (30%). Maybe Ready at Dawn is onto something with these shorter campaigns... I still don't get why people buy games but don't complete them.
Guess I'm part of the 4 lol maybe part of a smaller community too because I also platinumed that simple game
Tlou was bundled with the ps4. I'm sure a lot of people got the bundle and never bothered with the game. Transistor and last light were ps plus games too so I'm sure people just downloaded them and never got to them. The order on the other hand was not bundled and not free. People bought that game and didn't beat it because they didn't like it
It was a very enjoyable game, the only reason it took me a few days to finish is because my fiance enjoyed watching me play the game and I had to wait for her to be free to continue.
I bought it release day and have yet to complete it - my views were mixed on this game with the most annoying being watching a cut scene, then walking 3 steps to be thrown into another cut scene... where i take 5 more steps then yet another cut scene or 5 minutes of game play/walking around then another cutscene. It broke the immersion for me, yet other times i found the game very enjoyable and interesting. I will complete it eventually i just didn't get the urge to which with all honesty is the FIRST ps exclusive to make me do so! that being said id give the game 7.5/10 not a bad game at all it just needed a few areas for improvement IMO
