Fresh off the launch of their bizarre I Am Bread, Bossa Studios are continuing their odyssey of...well...the odd by bringing a game to the upcoming Apple Watch hardware.

"I’ve been wearing the Apple watch for a couple of weeks now, and I am starting to see how I will use it moving forward. I attempted to give gaming a go on my Pebble smartwatch before, and ignoring the graphics or the processing power, the biggest problem was the awkward way you have to hold your wrist to use these devices for long periods of time. Unlike other games, Spy_Watch isn’t built to be always on, requiring constant engagement, and this concept works a lot better with the tech it’s running on. Made by the same team that gave us greats such as ‘I am Bread’ and ‘Surgeon Simulator’, could they take the gaming world by storm again with a watch game?"
Spy_Watch, a somewhat strange text-based real-time choose-your-own adventure game – partly inspired by Twitter’s focus on bit-sized interaction – shouldn’t be fun on paper, and doesn’t sound like it even belongs on the Apple Watch. But it’s by far one of the wearable’s best games.
A few Apple Watch games stand out from the crowd as enjoyable experiences, and one of them might be onto something, bringing a new kind of video game genre to Apple Inc’s first wearable that’s surprisingly perfectly suited to the Apple Watch’s limitations as a gaming device.
I still see potential in the platform. Here's hoping better games start to come out for it (Spy_Watch really does work).
