I also beat her 1st go. I used the stairs to keep space between us. Works on a lot of tough characters.

Dodge...dodge and power is the only way to beat anything.

That is very dependent on your weapon of choice and opponent. For example, trying to do that with Ludwig's blade as a two hander against Matyr Logarius doesn't go well.

i did it with the ludwig's blade as a two hander.... it didn't even seem that difficult. on the 2nd try cuz i was breaking stuff by rolling around the 1st time and i rolled into a corner w/ a couch and i didn't know it was a hunter upstairs lol. got blocked with no space and bam light show lol

Just parry him to death, or even easier, stunlock him. A singled out hunter like that is a joke.

My first encounter with him went rather badly as I tried to fight him on the landing and he beat me up pretty badly. Second time though I lured him outside and just wailed on him with Ludwig's Blade. Did the job nicely. I tend to favour rolling rather than dodging against the hunters.

This encounter is a breeze compared to the 3 on 1 situation you can find yourself in after the Hypogean Gaol changes though.

Yeah it took me a few tries to get the rhythm of how this hunter attacked. A couple quick dodges in succession and you can effectively take him out in due time. When you mention the Hypogean Gaol, I didn't even try to do that after getting absolutely destroyed a few times lol. I just kept going and let them be.

I managed it in the end by luring one with a pebble. I then dealt with the other two. It was a close run thing though. I wasn't expecting it the first time at all.

I just met this guy yesterday and it took me 2 tries to beat him. His spell attack wasted me in one shot with 35 vitality. My insight is around 40 so maybe that had something to do with it. I ended up fighting him at the bottom of the stairs and when he was about to cast I hid under the stairs.

What is it with these boss guides in here with this game? Shouldn't people like....actually play the game and try to find the solution themselves?

Its not even a boss, its just one of the harder enemies. The hunter at the end of *minor spoiler ahead* Eileen's quest line is much harder.

He is very tough. I found him and Logarius to be the toughest fights outside of the Chalice Dungeons.

6 blood vials, no visceral attacks and tons of luck when avoiding the A Call Beyond... Yeah, it's easier to just parry her telegraphed cane-whip strikes, dodge/roll behind when she does Augur of Ebrietas and charge R2 for visceral. When she charges A Call Beyond just shoot her.
