Star Wars: Battlefront's Absolutely Badass Stormtrooper Image Revealed; it's Rendered In-Game Asset

Electronic Arts has been teasing the picture of a Stormtrooper from Star Wars: Battlefront for a few days, and with the latest posts the figure is finally complete.

This will be our first true next gen title from Dice no 360 or PS3 means the hardware will be used to its fullest we will get all the bells and whistles and this only possible because there is no ps3 or 360 version.

I am expecting a better looking game then BF4 and i thinks its going to happen i think they also have modified the frostbite engine to handle the new stuff coming with this game.

Well this isn't launching when next gen systems are just launching and it isn't launching across 5 platforms all while launching on a new engine.

What happen with BF4's launch isn't the norm of game development, that was a massive undertaking, it isn't as if all DICE games just launched that way, they don't just launch games on 5 platforms at once.

Not really, BF4 using Frostbite 3 is a scaleable engine. That same engine is being used in Star Wars Battlefront. This isn't DICE's first next gen game. Sure their first next gen only title, but not their first.

All games that use Frostbite3 just like any other engine actually are modified.

I highly doubt even the PC version will be given this level of quality of lighting/shading/etc in-game.

It should go without saying these days but in engine does NOT mean what it will look like in-game.

It just looks like differences in image-based lighting, so it's hardly unexpected. Those materials, being PBR, still look the same though. If you've any doubts just lookup Marmoset's Toolbag software to see how big a difference it makes when ambient lighting is included through IBL.

The image is ok but I'm going to wait until a gameplay trailer is revealed before I make a judgment. One pic is not enough to tell if a game is going to be any good. Also we all have a trust problem with EA.

With the recent comment of the SWB\Frostbite technical dev wanting DX12 to be required for holiday 2016 games and with SWB set to be coming out holiday 2015, it appears as if I will be disappointed that they're not using DX12... that I expect will prevent all the graphical goodness and performance possible. The dev's comment makes me think he realizes that is true as well.
