It's 2015. List patch notes, Nintendo!

JeffGrubb3723d ago

This is one of those things where you can do nothing but shake your head at Nintendo.

I swear it's like Ninty read "How To Piss-Off All Your Online Community Fans In 30 Days or Less for Dummies"
I understand they are always tryin to innovate and redirect their stream of fans in their own way to what they want but seriously Either they really don't give a @#$% what people say or do because "they so paid" or They know their fans will just be ok with this weather they like it or not.
I'm sorry but for someone like me this is unacceptable. Maybe I've been spoiled by years of getting patch notes by other devs that been doing online Infrastructure this whole time and they conditioned me to think this is just basic procedure especially a major online fighting game where the simplest of stat change can make broken characters and mechanics. I just don't see why they wouldn't post this.
Edit: Sorry Double post Vita browser and unstable internet today

It pisses me off because its so standard

They really should, especially because the game has a huge following and many people play it.

The players want to know what's changed

Big_Game_Hunters3723d ago (Edited 3723d ago )

Nintendo has actually been pushing for the competitive smash scene, its Sakurai who doesn't care about the competitive fans.

BudokaiGamer3723d ago

I can understand why, especially on this site. Bunch of asshats. Even if they did post the entirety of the changes people would still find something to complain about.

I hope Charizard wasn't nerfed or Wario for the lulz.

I hope they do nerf Ness with that PK Fire/Thunder oh and those fire emblem and xenoblade character ;)

Nate-Dog3723d ago

Pretty much all Fire Emblem characters were at the lowest of the tiers (I think a list was made a few weeks ago in Japan actually, and Lucina and Marth were listed at or around the bottom of the whole Smash 4 roster). I'd say they got a boost.

Concertoine3723d ago

none of those things needed to be nerfed, they're actually pretty easy to counter

eldingo3723d ago

come on nintendo the point of making a patch is telling your customers what you have changed once you have made said changes this stuff should be obvious.

RJ920093723d ago

Sadly nintendo does not get it at all. I hope one day they get with the times and they better not screwed zelda up for me this might be the last zelda I last one I ever get to play.

persona4chie3723d ago

Lol Nintendo isn't to blame, it's Masahiro Sakurai. It's his game and his patch, he's responsible for the patch notes. #justspillingtruetea

Dunban673723d ago

Nintendo owns the game and published it
(maybe i am missing your humor too)

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3723d ago

yes but Nintendo gives directors and producer control of their games. Whether the give details or not.

persona4chie3723d ago

Nintendo being the publisher means nothing. The equivalent to this would be if Santa Monica updated one of the God of War games and didn't add patch notes. People aren't going to say "Sony didn't add patch notes" because they're the publisher, they're going to say "Santa Monica didn't add patch notes."

Dunban673723d ago

Nintendo still owns/controls and is ultimately responsible for the game as well as any patch-

If Nintendo wanted the patch notes they would be up- period

Nintendo may give alot of leeway to their game directors but they give control to no one- but either way it is still their responsibility

To me smash brows Melee is my all time favorite. I can't tell you how many hours I played that game between friends and family. When I was a kid, my parents couldn't afford a gaming console so I had to go somewhere that had an arcade like setup with the only difference being instead of arcade cabinets, they had big screen crt TV's and gaming consoles setup. I would go with my friends on special occasions after school or with my family on the weekends.

I would meet and make new friends at that place as we were all gamers and we also brought our game boys and would trade pokemon. I don't think those places exist these days but back then, it was easy to meet like-minded people and have fun for hours.

Well, I’ll add my extremely subjective ranking too. I won’t include the 3DS version as I don’t owned it. I did play it for a few minutes though.

5. Brawl.
4. N64 Smash
3. Ultimate
2. Wiiu Smash
1. Melee

Yup Ultimate for me BY FAR is my favorite.

Ten Overdue Fighters for Smash Bros.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While the future of Smash Bros. has been uncertain for a while - whether Nintendo will build on Ultimate or bring us a new entry entirely - within all likelihood a new Nintendo system still means something new for Smash Bros. is on the horizon, and that something will almost certainly include new fighters, however many or few. While this might be the gaming article equivalent of putting up Christmas decorations in October, it’s never too early to start speculations when it comes to Smash Bros. before two thirds of everything inevitably gets leaked ahead of time. Keep in mind that this is not a list of predictions for future newcomers, though a few could perhaps fit in that same category, but rather a small list of the characters that in this writer’s humble opinion are overdue an appearance in the gaming crossover to end all crossovers."
