Fallout 4: Fallout Assets Found in Skyrim's Creation Engine

GR - "Fallout 4 is in development. That much is not debatable. However, the methods and such surrounding its creation is still the topic of much controversy. All we know is that Fallout 4 is definitely on the way. We're expecting that a trailer for the game will be shown at E3 in June, but that's just speculation. At worst, there will be no sign of the game and - at best - there will be a playable demo released to show-goers."

That S.T.A.L.K.E.R pic LOL XD

itzkblue3716d ago

Walker made me lol but really i think that fallout itself played a big part in the making of skyrim, although they are different games the similarity's in character movement and look can definitely be noticed. So yea I do believe some similar coding was used. Is this proof of a fallout 4? ....eeehhhhhheee..

WizzroSupreme3716d ago

Makes sense – same company, same genre. Wonder whether people will still be playing Skyrim by the time The Elder Scrolls VI comes out.

iSuperSaiyanGod3716d ago

I still play it lol so probaly yeah

Nwah3716d ago

Of course they will. There are still people playing Morrowind (me included) to this day and the modding community is still big.

Rinus4543716d ago

This is silly.. Fallout: New Vegas still had commands left over from Oblivion in it's engine. Commands about horses and such. Bethesda just did a bad job of cleaning up their game and this is no exception.

I remember there being a mod for Skyrim to remove the bajillion unused item ID's that were never used in the actual game.

So yeah, highly unlikely that this means anything. That of course doesn't mean Fallout 4 isn't coming.

Revolver_X_3716d ago

True. There are tons of mods that cross over between those two games. Bethesda games are known to be buggy, but oh how I love them.

Bigpappy3716d ago

All Bethesda RPG's since Morrowind, use the Morrowind engine with some modifications. With oblivion, they added the procedural NPC behavioral cycle and speed tree for the vegetation. The Elder Scrolls has become the most influential RPG series in the history of video games. Big, opened worlds with real-time combat is becoming the standard for AAA RPG's made anywhere in the world. Now of these games still haven't matched the complexity and detail you would find in Morrowind's gameplay.

Clarity_Page3716d ago

Sadly its probably nothing, I imagine its just bits from beta and alpha testing along with residue code from previous engine versions

Fallout 4 on Switch 2 seems inevitable, but what about Starfield?

A Fallout 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port seems like an inevitability, but what about other Bethesda RPGs like Starfield.

I think all games will end up on switch from Xbox. MS has embraced going to other platforms now if games aren't doing well on Nintendo MS may be more selective in the future

On playstation they have been quite successful

anast68d ago

I'm not sure too many people want to play Starfield.

Profchaos68d ago

Phils all but confirmed they are going in hard with the switch 2

TheColbertinator68d ago

All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.

Starfield is actually a RPG. Bethesda hasn't done that in a while.

GhostScholar170d ago

People acted like starfield was so less interesting than fallout and drastically different, but I call bs on that. Both are decent games, but they are both filled with the appearance of things to do and items to interact with but 99 percent are just there to be there with no significance. Fallout has better character work but they are both sort of illusions that they’re vast.

Studio has been going downhill since Skyrim. Every following game gets dumbed down more than the previous. I'll be shocked if Elder Scrolls VI even has dialogue options.

anast170d ago

Fallout 4 was bad, real bad. Starfield might even be a better RPG.

trez1082169d ago

Fallout 4 wasn’t a great fallout game per se but real bad? I don’t know maybe I’m a little biased because I replied it not long ago and had fun with it.
