NetherRealm’s offering gamers the chance to buy finishing moves in Mortal Kombat X, and a lot of people aren’t happy about it. GamesBeat rounds up some gamer opinions on the controversial microtransactions.
All playable on October 5.
Cool. Wanted to play Hell Let Loose and I always enjoy a good golf game. Mortal Kombat X should have been 11 IMO though.
MKX was already in PS Plus Collection. This is the second time they've double dipped. Thank god the golf game lets u hit balls into the crowd.
Hell Let Loose looks great but it's not a casual game and a bit of a acquired taste. It's nice for people to dive in a d try it though. MKX is already on PS5 for free with the PS collection so that bad for PS5 owners and it was only two months ago everyone complained about a sports title being included as a game but yet they follow suit with another one 🤦🏻♂️
PS Plus started so well at the beginning of the year too.
Yesss!! Played HLL open beta and it was amazing. The immersiveness, the one bullet shot, you can't just go running around shooting like in CoD or Bf.
Two martial arts expert attempt to recreate some of the moves from Mortal Kombat X.
Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat XL received a minor update today that is apparently related to some interface changes as per the patch notes.
one thing I heave learnt this gen is patience, gone are the days where I buy games on release, I now wait for GOTY version scratch that the full version to be released at a much cheaper price and bug free
this is what happens when some gamers take the approach of meh they can put it in so as long as it does not affect me, even though these sort of practices should not have been so easily overlooked
Its optional and they can actually be unlocked via the Krypt in-game. Its just for those who dont want to grind out the game.
Wow, can people use the easy fatalities in online matches, too? What bull.
It's true, it's optional. However, some peeps brought up some good points earlier.
First, this opens the door for more micro-transactions. Once people get used to it, the developers are likely to introduce more "hardcore" micro-transactions. Actually, I have to admit it is pretty shady that this came to light right on release and not before. Evolve got berated long before release, but these guys kept quiet. I wouldn't put it past them if they adopted some form of perks mechanic, which allows you to buy the best/exclusive perks to use online (inflict more damage, higher resistance, etc.).
Second, and this applies to buying the Krypt from the get go, it's hard to believe micro-transactions didn't affect the amount of playtime required to unlock everything by playing the game. We see this in GTAV Online, where earning money is slow and tedious, and at every turn, whether at your local store or online, you will find their DLC cards good for fake money.
Here's the thing, if we are against micro-transactions then we should oppose this, and every other kind, as inoffensive as they may seem. Ultimately, this affects us all. Let's remember that getting everything from the get go has always been a possibility with cheat codes, so it's not like having the option to do it is a plus.
I just really don't get what the point of this is? While yes, it is totally optional, it is also completely unnecessary and what you would expect from a free to play mobile game. These guys need to seriously cool it with the DLC and microtransaction crap, treat your customers with a little respect.
