Smite is a third-person free-to-play online multiplayer game on the PC. The players get to choose from a large selection of mythical gods, join arena based combat and use custom powers and tactics to defeat the other player controlled enemies and non-player controlled soldiers, known as minions.

To be precise, there are currently 64 different gods from seven different pantheons, Greek, Chinese, Egyptian, Norse, Hindu, Mayan and Roman Mythology. Players can choose the same two gods in a game, but are free to choose gods from the same pantheons. The gods are controlled in third person view which is unique to Smite, as other games of this genre are usually from a birds-eye view, looking down on the game. Each god has a basic attack, either ranged or melee, depending on your choice, and four different spells with various effects. The spells are upgraded as the player levels up through the level, the max being 20, this happens by getting kills, taking down towers and destroying phoenixes.
