Do I need more then 2gb of VRAM to max if I'm playing 1080?

Edit: I thought the screenshots I posted were at 1080p. My bad.

KingWookiee1755d ago

No, this is for 4K resolution. Recommended specs are a 2GB GPU so you will be fine for 1080p 60fps. Don't listen to the two above who have no clue what they are saying lol!

kingduqc1755d ago

They aren't even using 3gb at 4k very high settings, you will be fine with 2gb at 1080p.

ravencry1755d ago

2gb will be enough for high-very high settings 1080p 60fps.

make sure you have gpu like r9 280x or gtx 960

just don't use more than 4x msaa

bumnut1755d ago

Maybe, if you look at the screenshots textures are set to normal, so I would like know how much VRAM max uses

kraenk121755d ago

Check the recommended specs. They are for 1080p at 60 fps confirmed.

gedapeleda1755d ago

From the recommended specs and from the pics I saw The optimization is superb.
What's your gpu?

_-EDMIX-_1755d ago

I don't know what you mean. At what setting? With what features turned on or off? You could do 1080p...on almost any modern GPU.

Depends on what quality you want. You must be a bit more specific.

To max out this game, you would most definitely need a very beast gpu.

Tzuno1755d ago

4gb is for 1440p and 4k, you are good with 2 gb for 1080p

Video Memory: 2676 / 6143 MB

GTX 960/760 might struggle with high quality assets, shadows etc at 1080p/60fps.

--bienio--1755d ago (Edited 1755d ago )

I hope not, I got Asus strix Gtx970:/

Genuine-User1755d ago (Edited 1755d ago )

Disregard what I said, the screenshot is down-scaled from 4k, it's not 1080p.

SniperControl1755d ago

You'll be fine, even though i have two of the same cards as yourself, i ran Shadow of Mordor at full settings(with extra texture pack) at 4k around 45-50 fps on a single card before Nvid released the SLI profile.

Pretty sure the card will handle anything you throw at it with a 1080p res.

KingWookiee1755d ago

You do know that the resolution in game for these pics is 4K right?

kingduqc1755d ago

*at 4k very high settings.

I don't think people with 760 got 4k screens, and if they do, they didn't think much before buying one.

xPhearR3dx1755d ago

Probably not, but NVIDIA does have Dynamic Super Resolution technology now, so even without a 4K screen you can play games in 4K.

ravencry1755d ago

vram usage is for 4k and i m pretty sure a gtx 960 and 760 can handle high settings at 1080p as gtx 980 sli can play at 4k 60fps max. pcgamer pc has gtx 980 sli

bit confused by some of theses pics? why does it say he has MSAA on aswell as FXAA and TXAA? surely its one or the other.

OpenGL1755d ago (Edited 1755d ago )

You can enable MSAA in combination with FXAA, other games have done it before like Alan Wake and Max Payne 3 on the PC. Forza Horizon on the Xbox 360 used MSAA and FXAA as well.

FXAA is a shader-based anti-aliasing method similar to edge detection, while MSAA is ROP based.

SinisterKieran1755d ago

with the settings pics, there are some fancy in game pics too. is there a photo mode?

kraenk121755d ago

There even is a complex video editor.
