Will Mankind Divided return Deus Ex to its former glory?

MWEB GameZone writes: "The first Deus Ex (2000) was an exceptional game. It was the perfect video game; the story, action, characters, gameplay, music and graphics blended so perfectly that it transported the player to another world.

Invisible War and Human Revolution both fell short of delivering the same experience as the original. Will Mankind Divided return Deus Ex to its former glory?"

I really didnt like Human Revolution, hopefully this will be great. The first game is still one of my all time favorites!

HanCilliers1750d ago

I designed my char just for stealth, had to change him because of the boss battles.

Wonderful1011750d ago

You could kill them with Typhoon even with a stealth build.

KyRo1749d ago

I had the same problem. Played the game until the first boss fight using pretty much only stealth to then realising I had to go back and change the whole way I played the game to beat him. I hope they address that. Other than that I loved the last Deus Ex. Can't wait for the sequal.

ravinash1749d ago

They did admit that they cocked it up last time by contracting out the boss battle parts of the game to another company.
They shouldn't repeat that mistake... I hope.

kraenk121749d ago

They fixed that with the director's cut.

You could kill them even without Typhoon with a stealth build.

There is some part of me that wants to image video game bosses setting up their personal spaces to allow for player style choice. What goes through their heads?

"Okay let me open all the vents and patrol in an irresponsible fashion without watching my back so the stealth guys can flank me."

"Now I'll turn up some furniture for them to take cover near the area they'll enter from and I'll generously scatter guns, ammo and health kits down the corridor for the run & gunners to kill me with."

"I need to make sure my tailor puts some glowing lights on my weak spots too so my killers know where to aim."

I hope so :( I enjoyed Human Revolution. I'd love it if they could capture the world of Deus Ex 1 though.

HanCilliers1750d ago

The graphics of HR and the deep plot of DE, win.

starchild1750d ago

Nah, I loved HR but the graphics weren't that great. Don't get me wrong, they were decent for last generation, but we definitely need much better for the new game.

The plot of the first Deus Ex was exceptional, I agree with you there.

Man, thinking of the original Deus Ex takes me back. One of the most memorable games I have ever played, right up there with Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark.

Don't tell me this doesn't give you goosebumps, my favorite part of the song is near 0:35 :-) https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Those screens look intriguing, especially the customization of weapons. This game looks like it is one I will need to keep an eye on.

SonZeRo1750d ago

I liked Human Revolution, the PC was abit of a moaner but hey if your whole life has been turned upside down i guess you will be too.

DesVader1750d ago

Always interested to see new Cyberpunk titles and I still enjoyed Human Revolution to be honest.

HanCilliers1750d ago

IMO Deus Ex is not really cyberpunk, or it's a candy coated version

TheOneWhoIsTornApart1750d ago

You are going to have to explain how it's not Cyberpunk. You haven't the slightest idea what cyberpunk is if you are saying that.

ITPython1749d ago

I think Human Revolution was the first game I got a platinum trophy for on my PS3. Loved it, as the Deus Ex series is about the most enjoyable genera for me in videogames.

Both Deus Ex and the Mass Effect series I can't get enough of, cyperpunk/futuristic American RPG's are bar none my favorite type of games. Absolutely cannot wait for the sequels for both in the coming years.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart1749d ago

Neither Mass Effect or Deus Ex are American games.

Perjoss1749d ago

@TheOneWhoIsTornApart

True that Mass Effect and Human Revolution were developed in Canada, but the original Deus Ex was developed in Texas.
