Nintendo has been dipping its toes in the water of DLC and free-to-play with mixed results. Although it has done a great job creating worthwhile add-ons that don't feel like rushed day-one cash grabs, the whole amiibo situation has caused a lot of problems, mostly due to rare figures that sell out in seconds, locking out content behind an impossible-to-obtain toy.
A simple action-RPG that's good in short bursts and no longer wants your delicious microtransaction money.

It offered the full game, but many things were dependent on earning Poke Diamonds, the main currency of the game. You were limited in what you could do per day because you lacked this important currency. Now, a year later, Pokemon Rumble World has entered retail form, eschewing the mobile-style business model that stymied players. While that's all well and fine, is Pokemon Rumble World worth the $30 asking price?"
When the NPD results for April were released last night, there were two Nintendo titles notably missing from the top 10: Bravely Second and Pokemon Rumble World. According to Twitter user ZhugeEX, an analyst and known NPD leaker, Pokemon Rumble World sold less than 50,000 units. Meanwhile, Bravely Second sold just less than 100,000 units.
