"VIII – You Aren’t Bruce Lee"

Yes I am. *Brush off dust gesture*

Alright Bruce, any advice on how to kill the big spider and her annoying little spidies?? Help! 😧😦😵

There's one when you drop to the sea as part of the main quest and I just encountered another one as the final boss in a depth 3 chalice. Those spiders are a pain in the arse!!!

Best way to avoid the meteor shower is to look up in the sky when they're coming down and dodge accordingly, another alternative is to run in a circle (doesn't always work).

The way I do it is I focus on the mini spiders without locking on so I can keep an eye on the boss, then after you clear them you get some alone time with mr/ms Rom. Rinse and repeat. The other Aoe attacks, apart from the meteor shower are easy to read/dodge.

i'm gonna spend my last bubble (breath) if that helps someone.. so this is how i did it. you can also read it at wiki but there's just too many confusing things i'm guessing this might be the simplest.

1. kill all the small spiders. find the one straying away from the group and approach them and stab it from the side. they die faster.

2. don't let the small spiders jump on you. you will lose lots of health. when they jump on you move away and slash them when they are stuck on the ground.

3. after killing all the spiders, go slash the big spider from the side. after losing about 30/40% it will respawn at another location.

4. kill the small spiders again. one by one. don't rush. just take your own sweet time. the big spider will NOW throw projectiles at you every time it raises it's lower half. what i did was stand still. there's a 90% chance those projectiles won't hit you if you don't move. because if you move you get hit by several projectiles at once.. if you don't you'll get hit only once and that won't dent your health bar.

contd.... slow and steady. this part of the game is all about patience. stand still. move around kill a small spider. stand still. move again. easy peasy.
5. after all the small spiders are dead, go attack the big one. it will roll to the side or stump you with a jump. stand away every time you notice it make a weird body motion. hit it until it respawns again.

6. this time it will be by itself. just be careful of the projectiles going up from the ground. keep a distance from the blue radius and you'll be fine. go hit it every chance you get until it dies. R2 is your best friend.

it's that easy. all you need is shit loads of patience. yes yes.. it took me 3 tries to figure this out.

i tried running through the small spiders and slashing the big one and running away but as i came close to the big one it either body slammed me or rolled over. so it's very tricky. finally i just gave up and took the patience way.

Lightning is the spiders weak points.

Bolt paper or a weapon with Lightning does massive damage.

Utalkin2me3676d ago

I beat that boss in about 30 secs and i didn't kill a single spider. I used a fully upgraded hand cannon. 2 shots took its health down halfway. Just make sure to hit it in the side.

Lombax3676d ago

Don't even worry about the little spidies. Just Run in and smack rom around, but be sure to stay on the move and try to keep the majority of them on the opposite side of him. Watch his animations for the AOE attacks so you know when to back off.

Thanks a lot for this information, it is very useful.

And the bosses are easier when you stay up close and behind most of the time , just don't try that with the hunters.
Sometimes running gets you further quicker than fighting , so endurance is a good spend.

Remember to dance.

When I encounter a tough enemy for the first time I usually hold off attacking, but rather lock on and just dance with them, testing out things like their range and speed, and counting how many hits in their combo before they have an opening.

Also the guns are meant to be used as defense, but if your foe has just a tiny bit of health left why risk getting in close, just finish them off with a cheeky little quicksilver bullet.

If you're still early in the game and either having trouble or just not having much fun, quit out and start a new character (game supports multiple saves) and then choose another starting weapon. The weapons are all quite diffent in terms of move sets, power and speed so its likely the one you chose does not suit your play style at all.

One last little thing, I truly suck at souls games but I've been able to kill every boss so far within 5 tries, so if they seem impossible at first dont give up. Remember to dance!

Yep, that’s me! LOL

poppatron87d ago

I disagree, within 6 months the remake will be announced, it’ll be out in 2026 or the end of this year.

oldenjon87d ago

I don't know why they'd do something 3 years after the fact unless it represented some new conflict of interest though.

Can’t give it to Bluepoint? What are they doing exactly?

Redgrave102d ago

We just found out and the answer is nothing that you'll enjoy hearing

Npugz7102d ago

Bluepoint was given a live service game that Sony just canceled so they basically wasted that time and resources. Also layoffs are coming to bluepoint so it doesn’t look good.

This has been stated many times. Everyone keeps blaming Sony but it is in fact up to when Miyazaki is 'Not Busy'.
