PS4 'Yukimura' 2.50 Update Apparently Has Another Hidden Gem

Of course the suspend and resume function is the biggest new feature introduced with the 2.50 'Yukimura' update but it would seem another undetailed feature has been introduced with the patch.

It's a good feature for when youre with other people.
example, me and two friends took turns on an online game, using the headset to talk with other gamers. Bit of banter, trash talk etc. But without this feature the two not playing could only hear half the conversations.
Basically it's just more social and involving for others in the room.

I am pretty sure this is done for people who want to stream games through a hardware capture device connected to their computer. As you cannot hear the party or lobby chat while playing with online players before this update. You could only hear them in the headset which means your viewers could not. In fact this may also mean the software twitch app would also pick up the chat audio now too although I have not tried.

Can someone please tell me why Resume/play doesn't work for me?

I've done every setting correctly in "energy save settings" but it doesn't work.

It just turns off my PS4. and when i turn it back on it starts from the PS Logo and then boots the system and i have to login again.

Any split screen online game can feature chat now, where all players are included. You can just set up a mic now.

@ManOfTheYear1, I agree, and it amazes me how Sony fans blindly defend Sony, as if everyone is pathetic, foolish, and trolling for pointing out an article on a PS4 SITE about this firmware (OT). These sort of articles appear to be as much of a trend as the blind disagreements with anything that doesn't glorify Sony. MS clearly wins as far as customer service, and for those wondering how MS fans can be loyal, that is one of many reasons why.

You can already do that. The chat audio will be lowered though so you'll barely be able hear your friends. I was doing this in Bloodborne. Just have to turn down the game audio in the settings and boost the volume on the headset.

Yep mine stays in rest mode. And remote play via vita has almost no noticeable lag now. Very impressed by boyh updates.

You should only power down if you won't be playing for a while, or if you're planning on unplugging your console. Completely powering on and off will put a lot of wear and tear on your console.

The news/title is misleading. Before the 2.5 update you had to use a trick to get the voice chat running.

I'm talking about sound from optical and voice chat via usb without using the Astro mixamp.

Now you just select TV or AV Amplifier and you can get the audio from optical and voice chat via usb.

You just need a cheap usb sound card and voila you don't need to waste your money and buy an astro mixamp.

My PS4 cooler keep working hard and with high noise when in Rest Mode now.

Is it because of the Suspend/Resume feature with an aplicattion opened? Or is it just mine?

Are you saying your fan is loud in rest mode? If so, then I couldn't tell you why that is. Is it constant? Does it do it every time now?

Yes. It is in the options and has been there from the start.

Yes. You have to go to the settings menu and then devices then the option on the bottom will let you select the game and chat audio to headphones or just chat to headphones.

Anything above 1% adds to your overall trophy level, so I don't see why anyone would want to delete any other trophy other than 0%, unless of course its some perverted game that they don't want others to know they play. If that is the case, in the privacy settings, one can turn off others from viewing their trophies, games they have played, etc.

I would be more than happy to lose some trophies from my total if it means I can get rid of the 1%-5% games on my list. I have so many games that were just garbage on my list that gave a trophy for doing nothing. They are forever cluttering up my list with no chance of me ever playing them again. My OCD does not like them there. LOL

This option didn't come with this update, it was already active before 2.50. I know because I've been using it for the last couple weeks. I never mentioned it because I thought it was common knowledge.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be able to use my audiophile grade headphones such as the glorious Sennheiser HD600 on my ps4 and a separate mic and have the chat audio come back through optical into my headphone amp/dac. Yippie!

There is oviously something wrong with PS4 PSN store not loading. All my friend' PS3 PSN Store works just fine. I play a game then try the store in PS4 it no longer loads up unless I turn on the sytem and restart, I tried changing MTU setting to 1473, it doesnt work, this is so annoying, PS4 2.5 update didnt fixed the issue either, Restarting PS4 is not a permanent fix I beleive. Sony could definately do better, anybody else experiencing this issue ??

I've been struggling with this problem since day one, and have been checking every update to see if it's fixed. It seems that 2.50 has fixed it for me, every timee I've tried it's (finally) worked flawlessly for me. It sucks that it's stil not working for you, i know how annoying it is.hopefully yours works soon too!
