Start by giving the game a purpose for existing.

tinynuggins3747d ago

Calm down Keanu, how about FUN? That's a good reason. Fun, just like the first one is. And add a single player campaign.

chrismichaels043746d ago (Edited 3746d ago )

I played Titanfall on PC. It wasnt a bad shooter at all. But it definitely felt incomplete and like it was missing something. The sequel definitely needs an actual single player campaign.

Jdoki3747d ago

I agree with this article.

Titanfall was a fun game, but I quickly got bored of it. It had some great concepts and ideas, but it felt like a bare bones effort - there wasn't enough game in there, and not enough innovation.

The only thing I would add to the article is they also need to sort out the Matchmaking. I got so fed up with one sided fights. When I was low rank I would often find myself on teams with similar level players facing a team of players who were significantly higher level. It just saps all the fun.

MrFear3746d ago

I agree that Matchmaking needs to be fixed as well.

im not even sure a fps game can come with something that is going to be game changing at this point... i kinda feel like fps games are pretty played out at the moment, its easily the most overly saturated genre in gaming for over 10 years now... its a hard genre to please people in now and even harder to continue doing so after a relatively short period of time... best of luck to respawn i guess if anyone could do it, it would be those guys that brought us cod 4... but they failed pretty miserably the first go around so im not so sure... hoping for the best but not gonna be surprised when its just more of the same honestly :/

temple3746d ago (Edited 3746d ago )

This is offtopic and I'm not sure if it would qualify as game changing, but if I could get a fps in an open world as large as Fallouts, with gunplay like Destiny, agility like Titanfall, and loot drops like Borderlands I would never have to leave the house again. Not sure whether I would prefer a BL style character system with 4 default characters each of which have their own skill trees, or a build your own character like Fallout's. I do enjoy Fallout's system, but it seems I always end up going towards a high intellect/sneaking class.

r3f1cul3746d ago

if it was done properly what you are suggesting could be awesome.. thats what from i gathered is sorta what destiny aimed to be, but just didnt accomplish.... i would settle for just borderlands with better gun handling like a destiny or dedicated fps game like bf or cod... the movement on titanfall is ok i guess but i think the movement is fine in borderlands as is and if you want the more floaty style it was good in the presequel with the lower gravity... and well anything like fallout i want and love too so yea lol

StrayaKNT3746d ago (Edited 3746d ago )

86 metacritic failed miserably lmaooooooooo so 90% of games this gen have failed miserably? And if fps games are played out halo 5 wouldn't be the most pre ordered game at the moment hahaha atleast know what your talking about before you talk dude Titanfall was and is still amazing I still play it two or three times a week. And I REALLY do hope it's more of the same because Titanfall was a masterpiece to me and I could never touch cod again after playing it.

r3f1cul3746d ago

the score doesnt matter... the player retention is what matters and just because you and 5k other people still play it doesnt make it successful... there are still over 10k people on cod4 at any given time... THAT is a fucking success... no one plays titanfall anymore, its dead and the fact that the game got beyond reptitive and boring as hell in the first 2 weeks it was out counts as a failure to me... and come one... preaching scores... and i mean advanced warfare got an 83 on metacritic and its the worst cod ever made to most cod players ive talked to and to every cod player i know personally, also bf4 got an 81 and it was the most broken fps launch ever right next to halo the master chief collection which surprise surprise got an 85... dont get the fact that you like a game influence whether a game was a success or not... next to no one plays titanfall now and literally no one plays titanfall outside of the US... so it was not that successful in the broad spectrum of things just saying

StrayaKNT3746d ago

Hahahaha wow you're so stupid I find a match within seconds and I'm in Australia, I find full lobbies within 10 seconds with five bar connection dude shutup seriously cod advanced warfare is better than ghosts and that's what it was being compared to to. I agree About battlefield but mcc deserves nothing less then a 10/10 the campaigns worked flawlessly and the campaigns are up there with some of the best campaigns ever made and now multiplayer worked as it should have at all launch so obviously it's nothing less than a 10/10 if it was to get re reviewed today.

r3f1cul3746d ago

ummm clearly the campaigns didnt work flawlessly, on account of it needing over 10 gb worth of updates to the day for campaign alone... just because you magically didnt have problems didnt mean anyone else didnt, again you are placing your opinion above fact... and the fact that it was reviewed on launch as it was (completely broken and unable to find almost all mp games) it got an 85 THEN! so your precious scores mean jack shit... and i have no idea what system you are playing on to find ANY match in titanfall in less then 10 seconds that is completely full... because this is not the experience i have personally had on the game i assure you... maybe if my experience was like yours i would have less bad things to say about it, but it just wasnt man i dont know what to say, i had no fun on the game beyond 2 weeks, its cool that you did i guess but like i said considering the player count i would say more people were displeased with the game overall then pleased as of right now :/

GoPanthers9993747d ago

A Star Wars Battlefront style campaign would have been perfect for this game. Heroes and lore!

Also, regeneration was a downright stupid concept. Earn all the weapons and upgrades, strip them away and re-earn the same upgrades over and over.

mxguy933747d ago

Start by not being a yearly franchise

deadpoolio3163747d ago

Ummmm there is only ONE game, and the sequel doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon...Where in the bloody blue hell would your yearly franchise garbage even remotely come from..Hell the sequel hasn't even officially been announced, other than it will be on PS4

mxguy933746d ago

I'm saying don't turn into a yearly franchise like all other big fps.

I agree with this. The time travel mechanics. The sense of scale. The relationship with your mech. The bosses all had personalities. It's a wonderful game.

mastershredder417d ago

Yeah it was good, but it only did the time travel bit in one level. Dishonered 2 did the same thing. Now how about a game where it's implemented throughout the gameplay? Singularity says Hello (and deserves so much more recognition).

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger505d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

shinoff2183504d ago

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia504d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.
