Between the Xbox One and PS4, this console generation brought with it a wave a game remakes the likes of which the industry has never seen before. We’ve had new titles like The Last of Us and GTA V remastered for the current generation, and collections like Halo: The Master Chief collection go all the way back to 2001 to resurrect classics. Now, fans want one more series to go back in time, the most popular franchise on earth, Call of Duty.
Everything you need to know about Modern Warfare III coming to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.
MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.
That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.
I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
Call Of Duty is back with its yearly instalment, but is Modern Warfare 3 breaking new ground, or just a lazy cash grab? The answer may not surprise you in today's review from JDR.
I signed it. Would buy it with eyes closed, even if the design/balance issues weren't fixed.
To be honest, given how coward and obsessed with underpowering developers are nowadays, I sure hope they just fixed the hacks.
Why not just remaster the modern warfare series? Keep the mp separate so if you only liked mw1 and mw2 mp but hated mw3 you will be fine
Cod4 day 1 with bugs and juggernaut removed.
Seriously what sort of remaster can you expect from Activision? Yeah the game was fun but it might a case of rose tinted glasses.
I would like to see Cod 4, MW2 and MW3 in a collection. Would be nice to revisit those games with updated graphics. The campaign and multiplayer was great (except MW3) If it could only be one titled remastered I'd go with Cod 4 for sure.
